43 mins GOAL - following a terrible miss by Burton, he won back in midfield and fed TUck who sped down the right and slid the ball across the area for Liam Needham to blast home and make it 1-0.

HALF TIME Guiseley 1 Bamber Bridge 0
Tepid half with both teams adopting a very cautious approach. Guiseley didn't push forward from midfield and struggled to break down a tight Bamber Bridge defence. In the last five minutes of the half The two best chances were created, first Burton missed badly when clean through but this was shortly followed by Needham's opener which should ensure a more open game in the second half.

FINAL SCORE Guiseley 2 Bamber Bridge 0
Workmanlike performance from Guiseley in a game in which they were never in any trouble with Bamber Bridge (I think) failing to muster a single shot on target in the whole match. A goal in either half from my man of the match Liam Needham was enough to win a lacklustre sort of game in which Guiseley eventually ground down the opposition who packed the midfield and defended stoutly throughout, making it difficult for Guiseley to play their preferred passing game. Not one that will live long in the memory as a spectacle but safely through to the next round and hopefully a favourable draw on Monday

Not impressed by us in the centre of midfield and didn't see Askham break into a sprint all game, but Burts as important as ever and Tucky working himself into the ground helped.
We look so dangerous when we play with intent - when someone takes it on or plays a forward ball instead of a backwards one. So why are we so cautious? Speculate to accumulate, someone near me said today, take a shot when it runs for you on the edge of the box, don't stop and look for a sideways pass.

You can't Denny that if old boy Phil hadn't missed those two sitters it could have gone to a replay.

You can't Denny that if old boy Phil hadn't missed those two sitters it could have gone to a replay. Every time he got the ball in front of goal I breathed a sigh of relief. Ellis had him in his back pocket. Not an ace game, but their keeper kept us entertained with his berating of the abovementioned.

Would it be unfair for adambrid to include Phil Denny in his poll for Guiseley's man of the match?

Yes, not a great game to watch.Thought the back four were very strong.Cotty and Ellis are really making a great partnership !!.Bamber Bridge were a very good team and i'm pretty sure come the end of the season ,i think they will be up there in the play off's!!(Halifax) will win the league!!Any way we are in the hat on Monday. My money is on, we draw either Halifax or BPA. We are due a good cup run....
