Hi all,
Oldham fan here. We have just signed Adam Lockwood, see he has been with you guys.
Has he been any good?

Magnificent - he helped to transform what had been a leaky defence into the best in the Division, and by all accounts an excellent clubman. I think it's fair to say everyone at Nethermoor will wish him well. I suppose a season-long loan-back would be out of the question?

Far too good for this level right now and gutted to see him go. A gem of a find for us and, to get someone of that quality for nothing out of the regional conference, a gem of a find for you too. Reads the game well, every clearance and interception has good distance to relieve pressure, and a good communicator.

All been said in previous posts, you have a cracking player, sure he will do a job for you, steadied the ship in defence for us and for that I am truly greatful

The majority of correspondents on the Oldham Athletic forum seem to be dismissing Adam's signing.
I imagine the same attitudes were prevalent on the Stockport forum not that long ago.

As Nik says, probably too good for this level but good luck to him.
I reckon we'll see him back in a Guiseley shirt in the future.

Top defender in my book and I think Oldham have made a good signing. If some of their fans don't appreciate it then they know nothing about footy.

From being due to travel to play against Brackley to potentially playing against Liverpool instead - must be a complete nutter to turn down an offer from Guiseley. Better off without him

Lockwood was never going to be a long term solution so it comes as no surprise really. With all due respect he was always punching under his weight with us. Good luck keeping Suarez quiet (if he's not cup-tied!)

Disappointed to see him go but don't think it will disrupt things too much as he's missed the last 4 or 5 anyway through injury with Hall, Lawler and Parker being fantastic in that time and as already mentioned Danny Ellis presumably not far from a return.

A real shame to lose him but it was expected and as stated above Oldham have got themselves a very good player, someone who is far too good for this level I hope he comes back to us in the future but good luck to him at Oldham and his future footballing career AB

Obviously it's a shame Adam Lockwood has moved on as his quality really told when he was on the field. I wouldn't be surprised to see him involved with Oldham straight away. Danny Ellis is close to returning judging by the warm he did at Harrogate, and with Danny Hall and Jake Lawlor I think it is a position with good cover (given that Rhys Meynell and Ben Parker can also fill in if needed). I think there is a bigger picture here. The signing and subsequent support for him to move back into the league generally bodes well for the club. The quality of interim/loan signings is important - Luke Parkin is the latest example - and clearly the current management regime makes Guiseley an attractive destination and a good platform to prove your worth. I would imagine Adam's experience with the club increases the likelihood of the club attracting other quality players in the near term.

As already said disappointed to see him go as he's clearly played an important role in our resurgence. However, he was too good and this was always on the cards, come January. Think we have more than enough cover with Lawler and Parker and Danny to return. Really pleased for him, when speaking to him, he seemed a top guy and as Noah said Brackley to Suarez - wowsers! Perhaps it might encourage others of similar quality to drop the leagues knowing that it doesn't mean your career is over. Let's hope he'll come back in a couple of years

Also there is Kyle Harrison who has also looked solid with the chances he has had in the team and Jameel Ible who doesn't appear to be one of Mark Bower's favourites! AB
