Thanks for nice comments boselecta and yeadoner.
A brilliant win today after the early set back but we kept going and earned a big three points and a place in the play offs.
We couldn't have made a worse start to the game with Gloucester scoring after just three minutes from a freekick which Danny Ellis gave away
It was superbly finished though leaving Drench with no chance of saving it from going into the bottom corner of the goal
It took us a few minutes after that to really try and get back into the game, Gloucester had a chance to make it 2-0 but Drench easily saved their number 9's shot as we clean through on goal
It was after this that we really showed our attacking pedigree
Their keeper pulled off an impressive save from an Oli Johnson shot which appeared to take a hefty deflection before being parried away
We couldn't force an equaliser from a set piece as our corners and freekicks were often over hit or well defended by Gloucester
They made it 2-0 after a great finish by one of their subs but the goal was ruled out for offside, this appeared to be a bit of a wake up call
Their keeper pulled off routine saves from shots by Oli Johnson and Adam Boyes when both should perhaps have scored
But a few minutes later Adam Boyes finished well from a ball over the top, he controlled it and slotted it right into the bottom corner
A brilliant finish after superb control
But still Gloucester, who had made two subs with in the first 20 minutes kept attacking
Near half time though we took the lead when Brooksby took a shot from range which the keeper did well to save before Adam Boyes finished the rebound to put us in front for the first time in the game
Boyes was unlucky not to have a first half hat trick after he smacked the bar from close range
It was a good turnaround at the break considering the affect the early goal must have had on the lads but they fought back to bring us just 45 minutes away from a play off place
The first real chance in the second half of note fell to Gloucester who must have thought they had equalised when Drench spilled a shot but Danny Hall was on the line to sweep it away
Then we got a third when substitute Michael Potts beat the offside trap to round their keeper to score another goal to add to his good total for the season
It confirmed our place in the playoffs and with Boston losing 3-0 it wouldn't have mattered what the score was at Nethermoor today
But it is always good to go into the playoffs with momentum
Hopefully this will be our year!
Well done to Steven Drench who won the Supporters Club player of the season award after winning us many points and keeping us in many games with his impressive saves.
Quick note to the Gloucester fans, superb support and brilliant fancy dress and I wish them all the best of luck for next season
Looking forward to Wednesday's big game against North Ferriby
What a season it has been, a average start under Kittrick which worsened under Bower but he turned it around, starting with a 3-2 win at Ferriby and since then we have never looked back
We have gone from being in the relegation zone to the play off places in one season
Come on Guiseley!
Well played Guiseley!
