Brilliant win by the Academy today well done lads. To be pegged back to 2-2 and score a last minute winner shows the lads have got real spirit and togetherness. AB

Really entertaining game of football this afternoon, and a very good way to spend my day off. There’s a real unit developing there and Dave and Danny have to take credit for that. Particularly impressive showings from Fletcher Paley, Scott Smith and Luke Hogg, and while there were lapses when they went 2-0 up to allow Chester back in (Chester may well feel they might have snatched it and they’d have a point) the lads kept going and got themselves back on top. The penalty may have been last minute, but momentum was firmly in the Lions favour by that point. I’m already planning on going next Wednesday for the semi final against Oxford City. They keep playing like that they’re a good bet to be Champions of Champions! Which is a great title by the way.

Been moved to 5pm in the hope that more people can come and support the team. It is well worth the short journey they are a joy to watch.

Gah. I could have made the 2pm kick off, 5pm is much more difficult for me. It's as if they didn't take MY needs into account when they made this decision...

Another good display from the Academy this afternoon, Oxford were the better side at the start but two goals in quick succession killed them off.
The first an excellent effort from George Gomersall from a free-kick and the second a powerful header out of the blue from Kayle Price.
Then a nasty injury to their centre back just before half-time really knocked the stuffing out of the visitors.
They did fight back with a well taken strike before another excellent free-kick flew in to end the game.
Well done lads, good luck in the final which as I understand is being held at Oxford City ironically! AB
