BetVictor has us at 12/1 to win the NLN title with Stockport clear favourites at 4/1. Billy Heaths 'route one-ers' Alfreton are quoted at 33/1.

Stockport are very poor value at 4/1. I think Guiseley will have a decent season probably making the playoffs, but I would not put any money on them to win the league.

Not to question their sources or anything, but only a few clubs have anything approaching a squad yet, let alone a First team. So how can they have any idea what to expect? It’s almost as if they’re making it up...

Presumably it's the the bookies' usual sense of self-protection - clubs (or at least towns) with a Football League history will tend to have a bigger, more established and more optimistic fanbase, and therefore more supporters prepared to take a punt and their shorter odds.
Suppose we should be flattered to be the highest-quoted 'real non-League team'.

Have Southport had a cash injection? They seem to be some making a few signings

The whole idea of Guiseley going up this season seems slightly out there however when we take ourselves out of all the discussion and all the drama it’s nice to be considered for a position at the other end of the table! Would probably place my money on Stockport (if I dared to bet against my club) and I would have had F.C. United’s odds a little slimmer.

On a very brief scan, that looks like 40% mark to BV, so I don't think they are exposing themselves unduly.

Have Southport had a cash injection? They seem to be some making a few signings Yep. About halfway last season their owners decided to throw cash at it. Almost worked too, they went from bottom to top seven after a steaming run and then fell away again at the tail end of the season. This is largely why I’m tempering my expectations this season, alongside the likes of York, Stockport, Southport and a few others our budget will be meagre fayre. Playoffs would be nice, but i’ll happily take midtable obscurity if it means avoiding “doing a Ferriby”

Agree with you LL especially if management stick to their word & bring some of the academy players into 1st team squad. Young home grown talent from a successful team is just what we need & they don't cost a transfer fee.

I’d be delighted with mid table and signs of a brighter future

I know it’s early days but 14/1 looks good odds following the display by the squad against Bradford.
