The lad from Peterborough was a regular first teamer on 80k a year in league 1 rumour that Salford have trebled his salary and paid Posh £200k fee, makes me glad in a way that we are not in the same league as Salford

I know it’s early days but 14/1 looks good odds following the display by the squad against Bradford. Bookies nearly always right had us at 4/9 last season to go down.

Bookies nearly always right They're playing for a living with their heads against people who're playing with their hearts, and they set the odds. So of course they are.

There have been references to financial aspects when assessing club,s prospects for next season. As easily all club,s biggest overhead is players wages the only way to contribute to evening up prospects is to impose a salary cap in the National League. This has been on the FA,s radar for years and I recommend an article by columnist Ian Ridley posted on the Non League paper website on 22/2/18 which outlines the pros and cons from the point of view of someone with first hand experience. Personally I am in favour of one being imposed.

Think they have a salary cap in Super League? Might get sanctioned by through the FA at lower levels but the Premier League would never accept it., Jose Mourinho is moaning already about his squad, if he was limited on salaries he would be even more insufferable!

There’s too many issues with imposing one as silly as that may sound I suspect some of the ‘bigger’ clubs would object, and with some creative accounting you can get round these sort of things anyway so it’s doubtful it would change much.
