Good performance this evening , against it has to be said a poor city side , however some very encouraging performances, I’m hoping that 2 words from this evening sum up Russ & Marcus’s approach to this season: Paul Clayton ✊🏻👊🏻 Kgw96

Can’t get too carried away after one friendly but organisation and movement looked quite good last night. Bit concerned at Kayode limping towards the end, nothing serious I hope.

Good performance all round last night I thought for a first pre-season friendly. Given that City are full-time and have been in training for three or so there wasn't a great deal of difference between the four teams. I just think we got caught cold with their goal just after the wholesale change as halftime.

Really enjoyed the game last night, Moyo impressed and showed promise, Kingsley James showed strength and determination. Was pleased to see Scott score, he has pace which we need up front and Will scored a cracker too. All in all think we have the makings of a decent squad, still need to strengthen our striker capacity IMO,particularly if Kayode is suffering injuries at this stage.

Good to pick up the first win at Nethermoor since February last night. As mentioned above it is always hard to read too much into a friendly, you are either playing teams who are much better or of a much lower standard than your average league game. There wasn't much between the two teams which was good to see. After a fairly tepid first half the game came to life early doors in the second. A bullet header from Jones beat Worsnop. However Hatfield equalised with a bundled effort before Scott Smith won the game at the death with a neat finish. Onto Yorkshire Amateur away on Saturday now. Come on Guiseley! AB
