A disappointing defeat yesterday but with an improved second half performance we could have taken a point back to West Yorkshire.
We never really got going in the first period and it always hard to recover after losing an early goal, a cross from our left found Asante at the back post and the striker couldn't miss from all of two yards out.
Chester dominated the play and I can't really remember us having a meaningful effort on goal.
Asante came the closest to doubling their lead after 25 minutes when his fierce shot cannoned off of the post and away, it looked certain to go in and Allinson stood no chance.
Then after half an hour Chester got a penalty after Spencer clipped their attacker on the edge of the area, Asante stepped up and slotted home comfortably with Allinson going the wrong way.
Nicholson saved the side with a headed clearance off of the line at the far post from a corner.
The second half saw the introduction of Andrai Jones for his debut, he played well and when you consider he only played a half in all of our pre-season games it is more impressive.
We got off to the perfect start and could have halved the deficit but Martin header over from inside the six yard box, it was a great chance.
The sixteen minutes into the second half Garner had all of the goal to aim for but scuffed his effort over, another golden opportunity.
The third goal came from a mix up at the back, Nichsolson's throw to Garner was missed by the captain and former Lion Dudley was there to curl in the third and seal the win.
Then with nine minutes to go we made it a bit more interesting, Aaron Martin got his eleventh of the season with a header from a corner.
However the final ten minutes belonged to Allinson who made two stunning saves, firstly he denied Waring, his powerful header looked certain to be going in.
Then he somehow saved Dudley's piledriver, two simply excellent saves.
All in all not the best of performances but we perhaps did enough in the second half to take a point back, especially with the two chances we missed.
Two debuts for Allinson and Jones who both played well.
Unlucky Guiseley!
Onto the visit of Hereford on Saturday now.
Come on Guiseley!
