Can I start late? I reckon I'm gonna win, so only say yes if you don't mind losing. James' mum, Betty, runs it now, and I'm sure she'd say that anyone is free to enter at any stage, so just wade in and enjoy the ongoing fun...'It's a strangely addictive habit', as one of our other members recently posted... :

Fantastic. I have no intention of winning, by the way. I'm rubbish.

One rule I would like to add If you have posted more than one prediction under the same prediction thread without realising then I will take the latest one.

All the rules will stay the same for the 13/14 season including the one I added in my above post. AB

A new rule will be brought in with immediate effect:
Due to a couple of complaints from members of the Prediction League no posts of predictions or edits of existing predictions an hour before kick off so for example before 2pm on a 3pm kick off and 6:45pm for a 7:45pm kick off.

A new rule will be brought in with immediate effect:
6 points if you get the half-time totally spot on...or 3 points if you get the correct winning team but incorrect score (or draw with the wrong score ie 1-1 instead of 0-0)

On March 15th 2015 A new rule was posted on here as follows. Due to a couple of complaints from members of the prediction league no posts of predictions or EDITS of existing predictions allowed after an hour before kick off. Now I have been in conversation with AB via messenger regarding the fact that a member has in fact edited his posts the day after 5 games. Dec 23rd Aldershot, Dec 26th Chester, Dec 30th Tranmere, Jan 1st Chester, and Jan 27th Dover games. These have been allowed. So you can't edit before a game but you can the following day. Now I have been posting predictions for James because he has no internet for a number of seasons but they have always been his predictions not mine, but I will no longer be doing this because if someone is desperate to win something that was only ever intended as a friendly fun thing let them get on with it.

Hi, I have received your messages and replied but I haven't had the chance to properly look into this yet. Unfortunately I have no proof if the actual predictions were edited or if this was clicked on by mistake but I will be monitoring this going forward. It's something I just hadn't spotted at the time and hope that James' predictions continue to be submitted. AB

Why would anyone need to edit predictions after the match? Surely we should not be able to edit predictions after the event.. Defeats the whole ethos of the prediction league. Will be very interested to hear the outcome of this.

Will be very interested to hear the outcome of this. Unfortunately you cannot lock posts so they can be edited at any time. Having looked on my admin record I cannot see the original post because it doesn't keep a record of it. Meaning there is no proof the actual prediction has been edited, however now this has been brought to my attention I am going to monitor it going forward. As a test I have just clicked edit on this post and then save changes when no actual change has been made and it shows this post has been edited. AB
