Brilliant comeback by the Academy this afternoon as they toppled leaders Farsley Celtic 4-2 at Nethermoor to leave them in third place on 29 points and just six points behind Celtic with two games in hand.
Lacklustre first half saw the Lions go behind to a well worked goal and a spot kick but an early second half goal, resulting from a corner, halved the deficit before another corner brought the equalizer.
Then they were given a chance to take the lead with a penalty but the visiting keeper pushed the effort round the post only for Guiseley once again to convert the resulting corner to make it 3-2. A moment of exuberance saw a home forward launch the ball over the clubhouse on to the cricket field and he received a red card for his troubles!
Despite being a man down the Lions managed to grab another well taken goal late on to double Farsleys number of league defeats to two!
