On the contrary MJ I think its you who needs to get over it. I think what Richard is alluding to is the fact that where once we had a plethora of strikers, that department is now rather thin on the ground. He didn't mean any disrespect to James, who has not only established himself in the team this season but has led the line with distinction and made himself indispensible. However, what Richard meant was probably what happens if James gets injured. You only have to look at yesterdays match which he finished with a cut lip. Its a physical game and injuries come with the territory.
If James were to become injured or suspended where would that leave Guiseley?
Perhaps you should try to be more objective rather than believing people are always sniping. On the contrary James is extremely respected and one of the fans favourites. Not to mention a number of other managers are casting envious glances in his direction.

True but we got Greaves, Bettsy and Wilford can do the job upfront, we only really need 4 strikers

James is a top lad, but needs the experienced head of a Gav Knight around him, just don't see him getting that with what we have left - Betts - left winger, Greaves - inexperienced at this level, Wilford - totally on a different planet yesterday! The Spanish connection could be the answer at the mo - very close to doing the business with James yesterday and worth a go up the middle with him i think.

But my understanding is it was personal request from Wilford to be given a go, but where does that leave a shaky defence without him?

The same shaky defence that has only conceded 2 goals in the last five league games!

well said Wayne.people are too quick to blame the defence when actually we've had one of the best defensive records for a few seasons.we can't win games unless we score goals

Ok Wilford had a poor game on Saturday but at Matlock for 60 minuites he worked really hard and combined well with James. Wilford has scored goals at every club he has been at including Scarborough and York City at Confrence National level. Yes he is having a bad spell at the moment but surely everyone getting at him is going to do him no good. From the board to the fans we are all as one and should support one another through good and the bad times.
