To confirm we have one new signing before the Registration deadline and that is midfielder Lee Crooks (ex Man City, Barnsley, BCFC and Rochdale).

230 football league appearances (up to March 07)according to wikipedia, for Manchester City, Northampton Town, Barnsley, Bradford City, Notts County and Rochdale - scoring 4 goals. He's made 10 appearances for Rochdale this season, none in 2008 and according to Rochdale's website, he was considering a move to Farsley earlier in the season. Apparently, he is equally at home paying as a holding midfield player or in the centre of defence.

And from the 'Boy from Brazil' Bradford City fan site:
"BfB Bradford City ProfilesLee Crooks Steely midfielder who lacks pace but not heart. Born: Wakefield, West Yorks Signed on a free by Todd in attempt to bolster the midfield. Involved in the first team in some way or another since his move. Joined Notts County on a free. Former England youth international Crooks is a steely midfielder who lacks pace but not heart. Crooks signed for City in the summer of 2004 after being released by Barnsley and made very little impression. In a team looking for rebirth embodied by Steven Schumacher and the fit again Tom Kearney Crooks was anachronistically old looking and old school.
While others have played him right back Colin Todd sees Crooks as a defensive midfielder. Well liked by the players Crooks is not the most popular with the VP supporters who criticise his inability to make Beckham-esque passes.
Such talk mid-judges Crooks's game which is about breaking down opposition play. He performed the task manfully and with a big heart until his move to Notts County.

Ok great - lets hope he is better than McNiven who was really slow or the game will pass him by!
More importantly did the Dave Merris signing get sorted out - Bruce?
