Reserves have lost a game and the manager has stated why he thinks they didn't win - hardly the end of the world is it?

looking at some of the players. they have got a really young team the guisley lot. i have watched them week in week out and i asure you it was just a bad day everyone has them. the defence and keeper looked really nervous, but that down to experience at this level the oldest only being 19. give the lads a break. football a funny game when the team plays great (which they usually do looking at the table) then everyone saying how well they are ding what a good team they have got. now its some are not ready give them a chance there young.

Last Saturday's defeat doesn't mean that the Reserves have suddenly become a bad team, or that Mick has suddenly become a bad manager. Every team has a bad day now and again, but the good teams always bounce back. Form is temporary, but class is permanent, and these boys have already done enough to show us that they've got a bit of class...

I don't know who most of you are BUT I really appreciate all the constructive comments recently posted regarding last Saturdays defeat at Otley Town. For the record, the following teams also lost last Saturday in their respective District Cup matches: Thackley Reserves 3-4 at Salts FC Harrogate Town Reserves 1-3 at Ripon City Farsley Celtic Reserves 1-5 at Leeds Gryphons That shows you that the so called 'lesser' teams do raise their game against the 'big boys'. Onto Saturday and a tough away match at third placed Eccleshill United Reserves..........!!!!! Thanks again to everyone who accepted my constructive comments. Regards Mick Couzens Reserve Manager

Isn't it the case that in District Cup games, 'men against boys' isn't just an expression?

Tell you what Mick, next time I come to the reserves I'll heckle the officials from the sidelines like that tubby liner was heckling you on Saturday. We were stood next to him at the time he made that terrible offside call, but Feldmeister had warned us that 'Bruiser' was not to be messed with, so we didn't get involved.
You were right though.

You're not wrong. I'd love to see Bruiser reffing Man U v Arsenal instead of some of the lily-livered poseurs who get the job.
