Wakefield were known as Wakefield-Emley and before that Wakefield and Emley, after Emley moved to Wakefield in search of the bigger crowds sure to follow.
Fans of Emley who remained at the original ground adjacent to the TV mast formed two new clubs, AFC Emley and Emley Moor; Emley Moor soon amalgamated with Slade Green (a Kent League side created by former members of 70s bands Slade and Fleetwood Mac) and became Moor Green.
Moor Green were long beset by financial and social problems and eventually joined with Solihull Borough to become Solihull Moors.
Meanwhile, Wirral side Vauxhall GM were constantly being picketed by environmental groups, and in an attempt to improve their organic credentials invited the displaced Moor Green players to join them as Vauxhall Greens. However, following a stormy AGM the name was changed to Vauxhall Moors, although the last act of the outgoing Secretary was to insert a 't' into their affiliation form, thus creating Vauxhall Motors.
Things are not going well at AFC Emley, and talks are ongoing towards a merger with Bishop Auckland to create the ultimate northern non-league club, Emley-Bishop.

Some of which is true More details on the Wakefield site and the AFC Emley site. NPL Premier div. Emley AFC moved their first team to the Trinity ground as the Welfare ground was not suitable for Conference football, should they be promoted. (County Cup games still took place in Emley as they were still registered in Hallamshire.) They missed out on promotion twice and later dropped down to the first div. Emley Reserves were still playing at the Welfare Ground and by 2005 the original fans and officials had moved back to Emley and supporting the Reserves and formed AFC Emley (currently NCEL1). In 2006 the Emley part of the name and colours were dropped and a move to College Grove saw a fresh start.
