As many of you will already know Supporters Club Secretary Craig Shearstone has recently gone into hospital for a major operation. Unfortunately Craig has not reacted well to the operation and had to have a lung removed due to it being stuck to his oesophagus, this has led to Craig being seriously ill and currently on life support in ICU at St James' Hospital. Our thoughts and prayers are with Craig, his wife Sue and his family at this difficult time. The GAFC Supporters Club Committee.

Has anybody heard any more on how Craig is doing. You can't keep a good man down.

Never really met the guy in person but Danny Ellis said Craig was a top guy and a true Mr Guiseley. Here's hoping for a quick and total recovery.

I got a update last night and Craig is off sedation but not waking up.
Sorry I don't have anymore information than this, but will keep you all up to date with what I know.
Craig is a good friend to many of us and has been through tough fights before and is a real fighter.

So sorry to hear this news Craig was a top guy and I hope his family know how much he meant to all of us at Guiseley and the massive void that he will leave at Nethermoor.

It was very sad to hear of Craig's passing as we were on our way to Dover, the bus fell silent for a good 15 minutes with everyone reflecting on the sad news. He was a very kind gentleman who took time out to chat to everyone and make them feel welcome with many ground hoppers mentioning the fact that he gave them a SC badge, along with non league dogs, this gave them a very good impression of our football club and they took happy memories away with them from Nethermoor because of Craig. His knowledge and experience that often helped the Supporters Club with events and other things will be missed along with his cracking sense of humour. He would always support people in everything they did whether that be saying good luck or donating to charity or just giving you a general helping hand. I will never forget that he took me and my brother along with Steve Roberts down to Nantwich for our playoff semi final game in midweek, my first playoff experience following Guiseley AFC. It was good to see the players in black armbands yesterday in memory of him and his name was chanted from the stands in the first and second half by the visiting supporters. Rest In Peace and thank you for everything Craig. My thoughts are with your family and friends at this sad time. AB

I hadn't known Craig for very long - only since he started coming to my Walking Football sessions at Guiseley AFC last year. Despite the fact that he was often in discomfort, he always played with a smile on his face and there was always a witty comment to be heard. I'd often ask him if he was ok and his stock reply was always, "ask me again after the game." Truly inspirational. God bless you Craig. BL

There will be a minutes applause just before kick-off tonight in memory of Craig Shearstone. Craig's wife, brother and sister will also be in attendance.
