See from the WAO that we've signed an ex-Rotherham left-sided midfielder called Leith Bader. Does anybody know anything about him? I think I might regret asking that.
And can anybody confirm what's happening with Damian Dunne?

Leith has impressed in training and has joined us on a non contract basis,he looks quick and has a nice left foot and will add competition to the wide areas.Damo has been released,a tough decision cos hes a great lad but hes never really produced the form that we know he is capable of and he was going to be down the pecking order.I suppose he is one of the casualties from the strengthening of the squad but I have to say his attitude has always been fantastic and wish him success wherever he ends up.

Don't be daft superstew. I've found out more on Wikipedia. It doesn't mention him playing for Rotherham but he is a winger. Do you think his lack of legs will be a problem Wayne? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Douglas_BaderWere you expecting to feel this much regret OB?

From the above wikipedia entry: "Bader's brutally forthright, dogmatic and often highly opinionated views (especially against authority) coupled with his boundless energy and enthusiasm inspired adoration and frustration in equal measures with both his subordinates and peers." Looks like someone better stop him from sending texts around the team then I also noticed that Bader had a friend called Trafford Leigh-Mallory. How (almost) twilight zone is that? And Bader's nickname was Dogsbody so no need to make up a new one for the lad. Sorry OB. I've finished now.

With Douglas/Bader in midfield, at least we should command the wings.
And there should be healthy competition up front, with two kinds of rice (supplied by Uncle Benn) and only one Callery.

I know we have brought quality players in,but our squad is not the biggest, and losing Dunne and Walters..Well just hope we don't pick up any injuries, especially in midfield..So is there more signings in the pipeline Wayne? Oh, by the way thanks for coming on the forum and answering questions and being well -honest!!!! ....many THANKS.

Not one of the biggest in the division, perhaps, but one of the biggest I can remember at Guiseley, especially if you include the four youngsters given serious blooding pre-season.
As for midfield, I count Bader, Burton, Callery, Crooks, Pugh, Tiani and Whitehouse, plus Davey and Douglas, with Camfield, Ellis and Merris also possessing experience there.
If funds are available, I'd still rather see them spent on a big, bustling striker; yes, we've got three class acts up top, but with James out I feel we've been over-reliant on the balls into channels. The only 'Plan B' would involve weakening other areas of the team by using Burton or even Cotterill up front.

Understand all your points about the squad, but we feel its got a nice balance to it.We will always be looking out for people who can improve us but for now were alright.James wont be fit for today which is a big blow but the other 2 lads will never let you down. Not sure that we have been playing too many channel balls OB, in my view we have been passing the ball very well building through midfield but with the pace Gerd and Browny have got it would be foolish not to use that and stretch people in behind.James can also be that big strong centre forward you talk about,he is 6 ft4 after all,we have lots of options system wise one of which could be to play all three strikers, now that could be scary.

Where is Bader then? Seen once is he getting fit in Reserves ressec. Also lovely orange boots on the lad from where? here getting fit and seen warming up Saturday. Good debut from Bolder I thought both him and Burts look like footballers.
