Not a classic at all but we were by far the better team for seventy mins. Looked like it had petered out so well done to the lads for persisting and getting the chance at the end.
The record books will say three points and a clean sheet so that’s how I’ll choose to remember it.

Important win today. We enjoyed the majority of the forward momentum but lacked a cutting edge against a team that put bodies behind the ball. Good to get the penalty and all credit to Lewis Whitham for being first to the rebound. Great cameo from Adam Haw too I thought. We lacked some cohesion and there were too many sloppy balls but I’m sure this will be worked on and improve. I thought Paul Phillips spoke well before and after the game. A good, if unspectacular, start. Plenty to build on over the next few weeks.

Up those three-point Lions!! Certainly not one for the neutral, but we dug deep and got our just rewards. Important we stay consistent and try to string some form together ahead of what is a hectic Xmas schedule.. COYL

A welcome three points from an awful match played between two poor teams and pretty much devoid of quality throughout. To put into context, Guiseley scraped past their opponents who have now lost their last five league matches without scoring a single goal with a last minute debatable penalty which was actually missed but thankfully Whitham reacted quickest to knock in the rebound. Whilst Guiseley dominated for two thirds of the match, on chances created it was pretty even. We had a bit of good fortune that was probably overdue based on recent weeks. I thought we actually looked more threatening going forward in the debacle at Liversedge last week. At least Mr Phillips now has a good indication of the challenge that lies ahead. I would suggest he needs to focus on the spine of the team and needs at least three additions - an experienced central defender (like Danny Ellis) to provide solidity and leadership at the back, a creative midfield player who can pass the ball accurately and bring others into the game, especially the wide men and an experienced striker to play alongside Cassidy and increase the proportion of chances created that are converted into goals. Had we lost today we would now be in the relegation zone rather than two points above it. Plenty of matches left - still more than half the season but we need the new manager to have an impact quickly!

Tought we dominated the first half without getting the breakthrough, dropped off a bit second half but still bagged the three points and that's what its all about. Having seen what resources he has hopefully our new manager can imrove our perfoemances on the pitch.

Some surprisingly negative reviews above in my opinion.
It wasn't a classic but I thought it was a decent performance that Guiseley largely dominated. Morpeth came into it more in the second half but I can't recall Trenery being seriously tested at any point. By contrast, their keeper made several good stops and there were some close offsides that stopped otherwise promising attacks.
This isn't to say that everything is fine, or that Morpeth were anything more than mediocre, but it was an encouraging first step and if that XI can be put on the pitch for a few successive weeks then I think they'll turn into a pretty decent side.

A game dominated by ourselves but it was only settled in the 95th minute after a penalty save. The first half was totally one way traffic with the ball barely making it into our half never mind box. There were multiple chances created but the finish was lacking other than the goal which was chalked off for offside. Lowson had a good afternoon in Morpeth's goal denying Whitham, Qasim, Cassidy and a superb save from Ible's header. It was a excellent reaction save to deny Ible who looked to be in a good position to break the deadlock. The second half wasn't as good as the first as we struggled to find out rhythm but the introduction of Adam Haw breathed some life into our attack. Lowson still made several good saves to keep his side in the game though denying Whitham on several occasions. The visitors did come into the game more in the second 45 but Trenerry had little to do other than punch away a few crosses. They came on strong in injury time and nearly got the winner after a cross was flicked on at the near post. Going into the final seconds Chippendale was flattened by a visiting defender and the ref pointed to the spot. Up stepped Chippendale to take it but his 100% penalty record for the club went up in smoke as Lowson stopped his effort but Whitham was quick to react and slammed past Lowson to send Nethermoor into raptures. A well deserved three points and goal for Whitham, his second late winner in two weeks! Well played Guiseley! Onto Marine away on Saturday. Come on Guiseley! AB

I think CDPs assessment of the game a little harsh but of course he's entitled to his opinion and we all see things differently. I thought we were certainly the better team first half and should have made more of the chances we created and performances across the board more upbeat. Yes silly individual mistakes were made but overall a more positive attitude on show. ⁰ Unfortunately the team that finished the first half didn't appear to come out in the second and we lost all impetus and were fortunate to get the win. At least our new management team now know what and who they have to work with.

Thought Guiseley were the better team yesterday and played some decent football at times. Unlucky on a few occasions but stuck to the task and got the reward of a goal with virtually the last kick of the game. Onwards and upwards.

I thought cdp’s assessment was pretty fair - but then again it’s all about opinions !!

I think the early kickoff contributed. I’ve rarely seen so many balls skied out of play. I liked the earlier start myself, but neither team looked especially sharp I thought.

Two out of form teams lacking confidence We were the better side just lacking a cutting edge and Morpeth were not the side we beat back in August.
Delighted we won but we were no better or worse than we have been all season. The difference was we took one of our chances albeit at the second attempt.
They are a good set of lads who give their all.
The new management team seem confident in their own ability so hopefully that will translate into a run of good results to pull us into mid table. Time will tell.
