Really enjoyable game last night and another cracking performance from the lads to react perfectly to disappointment on Saturday.
It started end to end with Matlock attacking strongly but their corner deliveries were well marshalled by our defence before we countered but Johnson's cross evaded all our attackers.
Murphy had a good chance from a tough angle but his shot drifted just past Deeney's post.
Stacey then found Johnson just before the 20 minute mark but our top scorer couldn't find the target.
There were a few miggly fouls on both sides with Pratt in particular hacked down on a couple of occasions but the ref managed this well.
Then with half an hour gone we broke the deadlock, Johnson's pinpoint cross from Battersby's clearance found Pratt who finished superbly into the top corner.
Two visiting players went into the book after heavy challenges but despite a host of corners each one was cleared by our backline.
Battersby made an excellent stop just three minutes into the second half after we had won a corner.
It was us who scored next though when 13 minutes into the half Johnson somehow fired a low shot through a myriad of bodies into the bottom corner leaving Deeney stranded.
A superb finish from the striker.
A more settled period followed with subs by the visitors having little affect on the play.
The game was done and dusted with ten minutes left when Murphy showed excellent endeavour to keep going and steal the ball from Deeney's grasp before somewhow squeezing it in at the tightest of angles with the visiting keeper stranded on the floor.
We played plenty of injury time but it was worth it to see Ekpolo rattle in a fourth with a simply equisite finish from 20-25 yards out, the midfielder got his second goal in two games with this finish.
It all came after Chippendale's free kick hit the wall.
An excellent win and isn't it so good to enjoy those nights at Nethermoor again!
Well played Guiseley!
Onto Macclesfield away on Saturday.
Come on Guiseley!
