Perennial problem, but Youth is the future of any Club. People, Young and Old Should behave, but I think the issue is made worse at Smaller Grounds and Clubs who don't seem to employ Stewards , or have facilities for larger Crowds. Not to condone violence at Games, but if there may be a Risk of difficulties then Stewards are needed.

A shock defeat at Knaresborough last night in a game which saw both sides create plenty of chances with all the goals scored late in both halves. The game did take a bit of time to get going but once it did it had some exciting moments with Pratt coming close to lobbing Brown but the keeper recovered to catch the deflected shot. Our Brown then went on a belting run but just couldn't get his shot past his namesake in the home goal, from the resulting corner Kendall headed straight into Brown's hands. Then Tongue came close before Afuye had a couple of openings and Ashman tried to get in on the act. Knaresborough had a golden opportunity just before the break but blazed over when one on one with Battersby. Then just before the interval Pratt stabbed the ball past Brown to break the deadlock and give us the lead. The hosts didn't wait long to bite back though, just a minute later Edwards powered a shot past Battersby to make it 1-1. Knaresborough were on top at the start of the second half, hitting the bar, the post and having a shot cleared off the line. Then we had a good few chances too, Kendall, Ashman, Tongue, Ible, Afuye and others all unable to strike. We were made to pay when with a minute left Creamer headed in at the back post to put the hosts in front for the first time. There was still time for Ible to blaze over in the closing stages. That was that, our County Cup adventure came to an end. Good luck to Knaresborough in the final. We move on to Lancaster City at home on Saturday. Come on Guiseley! AB

I am sorry to labour the point, someone mentioned earlier that some of these youths have been banned for 15months,do I take it that's just for SC coach travel and not from attending games. Much more difficult to enforce unless photos are taken, issued to stewards at turnstiles outside the home ground and pinned on board in turnstiles. The SC has no powers to ban individuals from games. Our focus is ensuring travel is a pleasant experience for ALL.

Youth is the future of any club, Adie, but not these youths - if anything they are putting parents off bringing their kids who might be the future of a club we want to be associated with. I would not have wanted my son to hear their obscene language when I brought him to matches. We are not talking about adolescent indiscretions but borderline criminal behaviour.

There was considerable trouble after the Ilkeston game too. A group of youths were fighting each other in the George Stocks stand in the first half and we then had the debacle at the end of the game where the doors to the club house had to be locked and barred to prevent a large group from gaining access and starting trouble with the away fans.
Blanket bans across large groups are not the answer but there do need to be repercussions from this unacceptable behaviour. Police need to be involved and bans issued to the worst offenders

Personally I’m a big believer in personal responsibility.
The particular young man in question got the full attention of the law and the consequences for the rest of his life that follow. It should be a salutary lesson for anyone.
I don't think we should oversimplify behaviour as young v old. I've had grief in the past at a game from someone of a certain age who should know a lot better.
That said behaviour last night that led to the police involvement is shameful. Just because you wear a Guiseley scarf doesn’t make you a Guiseley supporter if you don’t represent decent values.

I don't know why it's just come to mind, but Beverley Council got rid of their youth problem by playing Barry Manilow wherever they congregated.

Knaresborough lost 0-4 to Pontefract Colls in yesterdays final at Ossett. Fairly even up until Town had a player sent off after just thirty minutes and then it looked as though there was only going to be one winner. Our ex-striker Adam Haw put Ponte ahead and a second goal just before the break should have killed them off but they created a couple of good chances after the restart but eventually ran out of steam to conceed two late goals.
