2024/25 Pre-Season Friendlies

Our first pre-season friendly has been confirmed with Huddersfield Town visiting Nethermoor on Saturday 6th July: guiseleyafc.co.uk/huddersfield-town-to-start-lions-friendly-schedule/

Tickets will be priced at £10 adults, £5 concessions/U18s and £1 U11s with half price entry for all 2024/25 season ticket holders.

Sale times on Tuesday and Friday remain unaffected.

To confirm what has happened with the friendlies:

This Saturday we will host Bradford City at Nethermoor in a 3pm kick-off instead of travelling to Parkgate as previously planned.

The trip to Parkgate has now been cancelled and will take place next pre-season instead.

We were due to host Cleethorpes Town on Saturday 3rd August but they have been unexpectedly called into the Emirates FA Cup so that game has now been cancelled.

On 3rd August we will instead travel to North Ferriby for a 1pm kick-off.

Forgive my ignorance but how is a team ‘unexpectedly called into the FA Cup’ at the Extra Preliminary stage (the very first round of qualifiers)? Surely they’re either in it or they’re not, right?

How are teams selected for that round? I just assumed it was based on league position, but this suggests it’s more of a random draw.

Can anyone enlighten me?
