A tight game last night settled by Will Longbottom's penalty midway through the first half after a stunning save on the line from a home defender! As a result the hosts were reduced to 10 men with the second half in particular extremely limited on clear cut openings. Grzelak and Longbottom went close early on and just before the goal Longbottom hit the post from close range. Ible looked to have opened the scoring from a corner but his shot from close range was ruled out for a foul on the goalkeeper. Then a teasing ball across the box saw Longbottom strike the post and then the loose ball was swept goalwards and looked to be heading into the top corner before Avro's number 5 showed his goalkeeping qualities to keep it out with a full stretch save! The ref had little choice but to send him off and Longbottom sent Shenton the wrong way to break the deadlock. There was a couple of chances in the second half but the openings were extremely limited. Sadly Jake Wright seemed to take a knock in the closing seconds so hopefully he is ok for the busy games coming up. Well played Guiseley! Onto Liversedge away on Friday night. Come on Guiseley! AB
