We return to Nethermoor tomorrow for our second home game in succession with Whitby Town the visitors.

Tickets will be available to purchase at the turnstiles with cash only at turnstiles 4 & 6 and by cash or card at turnstiles 1 & 2.

Weather looks like a nightmare today. Heavy rain and huge winds. Presumably high demand for the covered sections.

Definitely for seats. Don’t think Whitby bring many so the turnout won’t be huge - expect we’ll be able to huddle like penguins into the covered terraces but it’ll still be cold and wet.

Ask someone who’s been following us a long time about the Droylsden game played in the worst wind and rain I’ve ever seen at Neth!

Do we know whether it rained much during the night (I was fast asleep, so I’ve no idea), or whether the pitch was already soddened yesterday?

It was the cold as much as the wind that did for me today, but a great result and an improvement on last week’s performance - we worked better with the conditions today.

Another absolutely awful referee, one day soon they’ll cost us points.

Guiseley 3 Whitby 1, and it just gets better and better and better.

Will Longbottom is a revelation, and he must have scored the best goal in our league today - and probably any league you care to mention. If we can keep him, and if he carries on like he is, he could score 50 goals this season, and that must surely be an all time record for our team.

A mention, too, for Lebrun Mbeka and Jake Lawlor, who were were both brilliantt again today, and hardly missed a tackle all afternoon.

Roll on Leek on Tuesday night and a lot more thrills and spills. It’s already our most enjoyable season for years, and our team, and the football we’re playing, are box office just now.

Great result, Whitby played well and I thought looked to spoil the game and were far more physical. Thought the ref was lenient with them.

Another win under the belt, but felt we made it hard for ourselves at points. The odd sloppy pass would put us back under pressure, and we might have tucked away one or more of the chances we had in addition to the three we scored - though as I write I feel that might come across as ungrateful.

The team has bags of potential. Another Longbottom brace, brilliant cameo from Thewlis again, pleased for Jameel to score a goal, and some good performances all over the pitch.

I’m now greedy. I’d love to see us rack up a comprehensive win. However, continuing to pick up victories like today will do more than nicely.
