I've just heard a rumour that Guiseley have signed Simeon Bambrook. He has definitely left Farsley this week. The first rumour was that he was becoming assistant manager at Ossett (not sure which one though). Does anyone know if he's coming? For those that don't know about him, he's a Farsley legend and was the man most responsible for winning the play-offs into the Conference. He's also best mate of Ryan Crossley.

He'd be a decent signing wouldn't he?

The Ossett Town Forum says he turned down their Assistant Manager's job in order to keep playing somewhere else. Lee Crooks is apparently helping with their reserves, though.

ydr, he would definitely be a good signing. His influence and impact of character alone on the young strikers would be valuable. He's capable of scoring goals out of nothing from distance, especially from freekicks. He can also play in an advanced midfield role and recently made a decent makeshift left back. His penalty taking under pressure got Farsley their last promotion. The only downside is that he's getting on a bit but like OB he still has a lot to contribute.

With Muller,Brown and Hanson, all playing well, cannot understand what Kittys trying to achieve?4 strikers? OK Bambrook is a very good player, but at 35/36 i might be wrong but ,where would he play? Cant see him coming just to be a squad player... Prisoner as Simeon started regularly this season?or was he a fringe player? so wanted a move ?Maybe Wayne can put a end to these rumors and say if hes (I really must look this word up) signed?. And where?

Simeon has signed for us and we are delighted that he has.He will bring quality and experience and will (I really must look this word up) improve the squad. We felt that his versatility would be great as he can play pretty much anywhere but i would have thought that he will fight with Burts Bolder and Pugh for a spot in midfield.Obviously he could play upfront if needed but we did need another central midfielder and he is different to the lads that we already have there. Also the lad is a tough so and so and we will need that at times during the season and he is renowned for scoring vital goals with that sledgehammer of a left foot, all in all a good signing.Welcome to the club Simmy

Released by Scunny in summer and has had 1 0r 2 offers from others in our league. He is travelling from Cleethorpes to train with us but as yet we havent seen the lad play a match but the idea is to look at him in the reserves and in training. From what we have seen so far his attitude is good and he has done ok in training so we will see how things pan out.He can play left back and left midfield.

Jon-Boy Walton of the Waltons was an overly emotional character prone to crying at the drop of a hat. If John Walton's like his namesake Sim will soon toughen him up. Wayne's summary of Sim is spot on and he will be a challenge and a good alternative to the 3 in midfield that Wayne mentions. Bo', so far this season Sim played as leftback for Farsley in most of their pre-season games and in two away games that I didn't see. Last season in the BSP he was mainly in the central midfield role that Wayne has got in mind with occasional appearances in attack and defence. His age must be a factor otherwise he'd still be a first choice regular for Celtic. He looks older than his years but probably looked 30 when he was 20. He's always been very strong and determined in his play and his job as a fireman (too late to save the main stand I'm afraid) probably helps with his fitness. John Boyd has written a fitting tribute to him on the main Farsley website for those that want to read it. Usually players leave Farsley without much of a mention from the club. That a tribute has been written to him is some indication of how well thought of he is and what he has achieved.
