Since the inception of the Forum, its administrators and moderators have worked to ensure that it provides a platform for chat, discussion, opinion of all hues and exchanges of information, not only for Guiseley fans but for all followers of non-League football. Unlike some other clubs’ Forums we are open for all to view, and the machinery for joining and posting has been made as simple and user-friendly as possible.
The policy has resulted in a number of visitors who support other clubs staying on to record their contributions, and the variety of standpoints has led to some interesting, informative and often amusing banter and has made our Forum, we believe, one of the more readable ones in the Unibond. Excesses have been dealt with by the occasional quiet word, a verbal ‘bleeping’, or - even more effectively - by the wit of the other members.
Lately, however, the Forum has been assailed by a couple of correspondents whose agenda would appear to be solely to destabilize GAFC by means of the presentation as fact of information at best contentious and at worst downright untrue. That these correspondents would appear from their e-mail addresses to have a close connection to another club in the League makes such behaviour intolerable.
After discussion, therefore, we have decided to ban with immediate effect the two members concerned, and any ‘offspring’ spawned by the ban. We hope our members understand the reasons behind our actions, and we can assure you all that they are not the opening salvos of a less tolerant regime.
Sorry to sound so pompous, and Keep Posting.
