The Lone Ranger and Tonto were ambushed in a valley by 600 screaming Apaches... Hopelessly surrounded on all sides, the Lone Ranger turns to Tonto in his desperation and pleads..."What are we going to do now, Tonto?" And Tonto replied: (Scroll down) "Who's 'we', Paleface?"... .................................

No, the actually identity of the Lone Ranger was Kim O'Sowerby, a transexual third generation incomer from County Cork in the Irish Republic.
In addressing him in the traditional Cherokee way of using the full name at all times, Tonto found great difficulty in pronouncing the 'ow' part of Sowerby's surname, and thereby rendered it as 'Kim O'Sa'by', which has since been incorrectly rendered still further as the more widely known 'Kemo Sabhay'..
The subsequent legend of Tonto addressing O'Sowerby as such, the name meaning either 'trusted scout or 'faithful friend', is entirely without foundation, and came about largely as a result of pure guesswork on the part of the so called 'experts' of the day.
