93 mins - Burton off Joynes on -- and we've hung on to win 3-2. A thoroughly unsatisfactory afternoon.

Thanks, as usual, CDP - I suppose it could have been worse. Leeds managed to loose 2-1 away at Millwall.

Wally was stupid to get himself sent off, Adam. On a booking and screaming blue language at the linesman. Idiot.

On a brighter note, had a fantastic time. Still in Durham cos went for a look around and then to Halford's for a headlight bulb. Fun game, good banter was being had with their 5'6" keeper and the attractive female coppers, and we took three points while still playing their team back into form. My bloody trousers are still wet through though.

Not the best introduction you could have had to a Guiseley away game Nik. Very poor performance, we allowed ourselves to be dragged down to Durham's level. If we'd played with more width from the start we would have won more convincingly.
Wally was an idiot getting himself sent off but the ref and the linesman on the stand side had a shocking afternoon. The liner even stuck his tongue out at the Guiseley fans (or maybe it was just aimed at me) after giving yet another poor decision in Durham's favour.

Agreed bobflymo. Wally lived up to his name and then appeared to spit his dummy out in the tunnel, where it looks like a few handbags were swung. I think that was Durham's best result this season.
How we didn't capitalise against their oompa-loompa keeper I do not know! I think nik was being over-generous with the 5'6'' call. He couldn't kick and kept throwing the ball at our players.
As for the officials, CDP was spot on. Barry and Paul Chuckle accompanied by Stig of the Dump. What a bunch of idiots.

To add a bit of perspective/find a straw to clutch at, in nine League games this afternoon we were the only team to beat lower-placed opposition.

Their keeper was clearly related to the ref too, they looked like the same man at two different stages of life. One couldn't kick and the other couldn't, well, ref. At least their keeper had a sense of humour. When that torrential downpour came down in the first half, they brought out a towel that was as big as he was. He had a chuckle when one of our gang behind the goal asked him to share it around. ;D
