Park Avenue? Seems more like a cul-de-sac? But don't you just luv to hate em? By the way Vinnie was at Retford tonight so he's was either sizing up the opposition or reminding himself of what he's missing.

Breaking news - Avenue sign a striker to replace Mark Betts, apparently he comes with his own uniform and postbag, some doubt about his company van though.

Here's the latest from the BPA forum. Right, after recieving a phone call this morning of the man himself I can confirm that Mark Bett is no longer a Bradford Park Avenue player. I can't however comment on where he will be going as he doesn't know at the moment although he has recieved offers which was expected. -------------------- Mark Bett Official No1 Fan I see you have quoted my post, lol. Unfortunatly yes it is true that Bettsy will be following Spider down the short trip from Horsfall to Nethermoor....which may see me down at Guiseley to watch them and get free drinks!! I do note in my post on the BPA forum it suggests he was forced out...but by this I was merely meaning by bringing in players in his position and not that the board didn't want him. Our loss is definatly your gain! He will more than replace Hanson's goals and give you a very good determined hard working striker.

Many a slip, briggsy... Has he actually put pen to paper yet? Bettsy was very highly regarded on the terraces last time he was here. Don't suppose he could be persuaded to bring a utility defender with him (Mr Iqbal'd do nicely ), then I reckon we'd have all the bases covered.

Can someone from the club confirm Bettsy's signing?
I agree. He's a no nonsense player who gives 100%. It'll be good to have him back

Rumour has it that Sturdy is also on his way back Betts is a good addition and if we manage to get Sturdy back then the squad has strengh in depth and with winter on its way we would be in a very good position squad wise

Just read this on the nonleaguedaily website. Looks like Betts & Muller up front, should be interesting.
Mark Bett could be appearing at Nethermoor for a second debut on Saturday after returning to Guiseley from neighbours and UniBond League Premier Division rivals Bradford Park Avenue.
Guiseley host Frickley Athletic in a Premier Division clash just a week after putting their West Yorkshire opponents out of the FA Trophy. The reward for that was a home derby tie against FC Halifax Town in a fortnight.
Lions` boss Steve Kittrick confirmed Bett (pictured) was in contention, saying: “Mark will come straight into the squad because Jamie Walshaw is suspended for this one. Jamie played well last week and we did a professional job to get the win at their place.
“I know Frickley’s manager Billy Heath very well and he had a few players out for that cup tie. He has a centre back and a midfielder coming back and he signed John Groome from Avenue, around the time when we signed Betsy.
“They will probably have more changes to their squad for this second game in a week than we will, so if anything it’s us who will have to get our preparation right.
“We can’t be complacent just because we won at their place. I’m sure that would be a recipe for disaster.”
Pris - is that a FC shirt he's wearing?

Yes & with our terracing behind him. Looks like it was taken when we first signed him from Wibsey. He had a short time back on loan with us last season and was very lively. Can't understand why he wasn't a regular at Avenue. Shame we didn't sign him. He's a great player to watch.

Then why wasn't there anybody on the terracing?
