Rory Prendergast, cause of much dressing room unrest at Farsley and likewise in his previous spell at Avenue. He was as unpopular with our supporters as he was with his fellow players. He's a good signing by Avenue but only if their aim is to get all their expensive and under performing players to leave.

Good chance it's true then (although strictly speaking you can't use the term 'elsewhere' if it's the same source. I thought you claimed to be educated. Was it at Leicester Poly by any chance? It was famously described by Mark E Smith as being "the pits".)

Here's the latest from the BPA forum. Right, after recieving a phone call this morning of the man himself I can confirm that Mark Bett is no longer a Bradford Park Avenue player. I can't however comment on where he will be going as he doesn't know at the moment although he has recieved offers which was expected.
While I am rather annoyed to say the least to see him going, not only because he's a good mate and a great bloke but he's also one of the hardest workers in the team, he wanted to be here and wasn't all about the money. I think it's a joke that we're keeping players like Campbell who hardly puts the work in, this new guy from what ever pub team he came from and several other's who are just here for the money.
There wasn't a single point he wanted to leave the club, but he's always wanted to play 1st team football and looking at the c**p infront of him it's hardly suprising that he's left.
Any way enough of the rant.....he asked me to pass on a message to all fans and that was to say thank you to everyone of you as he was made to feel welcome from day one and has enjoyed every minute at Bradford Park Avenue. He regrets leaving but the powers beyond have called from him to be let go as I know it wasn't his decision.
If there is anyone who want's to give him a message just let me know and i'll let him know.
I honestly thought the club wanted to move forwards......hardly seems it!

Well, Pris, yes it was and yes, he did! But we had the longest Student Union bar in Europe (called, unsurprisingly, the Long Bar) and a tower block (The James Went Bldg) that Maths professors regularly jumped off (1 per year in my time there). The old "Union" building is sadly long gone now. It was Harvey Goldsmith venue ("The Arena"), and we had some great bands there in the time I was a student ('84-'87) But I digress.......... has Bettsy come back to us or not?

What are you on about V man? Replying to Pris's questions mate, don't let it trouble you. Have edited it to make sense to the less cerebral observer.

Those Maths Professors must have also thought Leicester Poly was the pits (Did they jump or did they hear The Fall?). I mean what alumni retorts to criticism of his former academic institution with the line "But we had the longest Student Union bar in Europe". You're scrapping the bottom of the barrel volvoman which is probably what you were doing from '84-'87

I'd rather have Mark Bett than the angry and unpopular player Avenue have got to replace him. For once I agree with prisoner, but not entirely sure he is a replacement for Bett really. Whilst an unused sub on Saturday, Prendergast will have to impress to oust young Gibson, whose form was keeping Bett out the side. As for Bettsy, I believe Halifax wanted him on loan a few weeks ago, but signed Sanasy, when refused. Considering your injury and suspension problems up front, would imagine Guiseley the better option for games, for him. Either way, I wish him well, he's been a good servant for BPA.
