Did anyone notice the very wonderful 'Tender' by Blur being played during the pre-match tannoy disco at a home game recently? It's a really big 'fave rave' of mine (and 'Mrs Yeadoner' too) and I wonder if they'd let us draft a Forum Top Ten tracks of our own for a VIP Celebrity DJ (ie Adie) to run down before a game and at half time at some time this season? If we get the merest whiff of a response we could maybe approach the club (You do it, Nik. They like you, mate!) and we could be bopping around like devishes before you could say....err...'dervishes'.... PS...Another big 'fave rave' of mine was the 'Our House' track by Madness that was played most of last season and (I think) for quite a bit of the season before...

yeadoner mate, you've mixed up your Madness tracks - it was "House of fun", not "Our House", I think Adie ment it to be ironic!
Otherwise, love the idea but we need some Half Man, Half Biscuit.

Correct! I got the Madness track wrong (Wasn't quite thinking properly), but I still think the basic idea is quite a goer! So, my vote goes to a repeat of either Blur or whichever Madness song it was and you'll plump for Half Man, Half Biscuit so how about everyone else picking a track and we can keep a running total and eventually try to arrive at a Top Ten?...

One second thoughts, I like to propose "Welcome to the Jungle" by Guns 'N' Roses - well we are the Lions!
{Yes, before you all shout, I know lions don't live in jungles, they live on the plains of the svelt and savanna in Africa, but their isn't a song called "Welcome to the Svelt)}

'The Lion Sleeps Tonight' to be played when the team falls asleep during evening home games.
'White Lions (Don't Do It)' By Grand Master Flash and Melle Mel: to be played...er...when the team falls asleep during Saturday home games.
'Onward Christian Soldiers' to be played as the team come onto the pitch (maintaining GAFC's proud religious origins).

OK I didn't understand all of that except for the bit about using Tender by Blur as warmup music ...... which I didn't really get even then. But the more pressing issue for me is this - Yeadoner, I've met so many people that I don't remember your face or name any more and so it is almost certain that we will/have cross/crossed paths and I won't have acknowledged you. So please allow me to apologise and offer to do anything I can to aid your efforts, even if it means ironing my cords and standing up straight for a sales pitch to the club staff. Goodness knows how you surmise that they like me though ... I didn't even pay for a square of the pitch yet, despite being asked three times now.

Incidentally - anything by the Kaiser Chiefs would work and be no worse a cliché than most other things I can think of.
And the A-Team theme for them to come out to at the starts of the matches.

My understanding was that the reason for the madness song was an idea from our ex marketing manager along with resurrecting The Lions nickname. As in welcome to the house of fun,welcome to the Lions den. Me.....I hate it.

'Onward Christian Soldiers' to be played as the team come onto the pitch (maintaining GAFC's proud religious origins). Or alternatively Half Man Half Biscuit's 'God Gave Us Life'. The lyrics could be changed to suit the circumstances. 'God gave us life, (Hallelujah), but he also gave us Wally & Burts God gave us life, (Pontius Pilate), but he also gave us Kitty & Thomo God gave us life, (have a banana), but he also gave us Adam & nik, Arggggh!'
