HALF TIME 0 - 0
Bit of a stalemate so far - plenty of endeavour from both teams but not much end product. Guiseley have edged it with more chances created but neither keeper has had to make a difficult save.

FINAL SCORE. A very frustrating 0 - 0. Totally dominated the second half but couldn't find the back of the net.

Look, anyone can make a mistake - send out a team that doesn't look like winning, only has a few short bursts of aggressive play - but to leave it the same until the 85th minute is crazy. Even if we'd been pummelling their goal, we should still have made a change, but to leave the original 11 carrying on even when a short burst after half time was basically all the pressure we had generated up to about 60 minutes was insane.
If Bett, Askham and Singh aren't likely to add anything going forward, why bother naming them on the bench?
This was a team we made look foolish last week, they worked their socks off today but were still there for the taking. But the management showed no intent.
Big props to Chris Holland who really did try to get things going, and to the defence who rarely looked under any real threat.

Hear, hear, nik. With so few chances being created and the ones we did get being wasted, it must have been obvious to everyone in the ground except the Guiseley management that a change was needed. This could have been the perfect opportunity for Bett to make an impact on his return to the club. Why was he given so little time in which to do so?

Frustrating today. Frickley were first to the ball today in all departments other than Cotty who was outstanding today. Can anyone tell me why their 9 got booked for tapping the ball away 2 yards and their 5 got a severe letting off for blasting it out of the ground under the ref's nose just minutes later. Yet again an appaling performance from the officials. I'm off to bed now. Gute Nacht Feldmeister

I agree with all of the above.
We were second to the ball, especially the balls off the ground and there was very little threat from either team to score. The game was begging for someone to take it by the scruff of the neck and bang a couple of goals in, but there was no one on the pitch to do it.
Also...did Tucky play a different role today on the far left today (or am I making this up?). He didn't seem to be getting as much of the ball and feeding the forwards as much as usual. He is a crucial player to the team and think a more free roaming or central role suits him.

He's been the right of the front three the last few games, with Wally out I thought Muller would be a straight swap but for some reason he stuck Tucky out there and Muller on the right. Thing is that Muller would be a threat on the ball anywhere on the pitch, but Tucky just isn't very effective on that side.

Frickleys match report. Guiseley 0-0 Frickley Athletic
The Blues bounced back from last week's FA Trophy defeat at the hands of Guiseley to come back from Nethermoor with a deserved point in todays UniBond League fixture. The home side had more of the play but a 4-5-1 formation stifled the hosts for most of the game with Adam Nicklin only called into action on a few occasions.
Steve Heath and Jonathan Groome returned to the side whilst loan signing Matthew Bird replaced the suspended Michael Price at left-back. Neil Towler and Duane Grace both reported unavailable due to illness.
Guiseley started the game brightly with Adam Muller cutting in from the left before firing over the bar from just inside the box after 6 minutes.
Frickley lost Matty Bloor with a reoccurrence of his hamstring injury after just 11 minutes and he was replaced by Phil Lindley.
Guiseley's Liam Needham met a cross from the right with a diving header that flew well wide of goal after 14 minutes. Three minutes later Steve Burton broke clear down the right but fired his angled 18 yard shot straight at Adam Nicklin.
Frickley had their first real opportunity after 27 minutes when Chris White controlled the ball well on the edge of the box before striking a strong 18 yard shot straight at Jon Worsnop.
Just before half time the home side went close again when a free-kick from the right was glanced just wide of the far post by Danny Ellis.
Nicklin was called on to make his first real save of the game on 58 minutes and he duly pushed Dave Merris' angled drive from 18 yards over the bar.
Four minutes later Steve Heath sprayed the ball out to Danny Clarke on the right and his great first touch took him away from a defender but his 20 yard shot was comfortably saved by Worsnop.
White then had a jinking run from his own half through the Guiseley defence but his final shot from the edge of the box was tamely wide when Clarke and Lee Morris were well placed.
Guiseley had perhaps their best chance on 66 minutes when Nicklin parried a low 20 yard shot from Lee Tuck but Burton blasted the rebound over the bar from close range.
As time ran out the home side started throwing men forward and went close through Craig Bentham but Nicklin pushed his low 25 yard shot around the post at full stretch after 79 minutes.
Two minutes later Chris Holland hit a low 25 yard shot that took a couple of deflections before being saved by Nicklin.
The last goal action was at the other end when on 86 minutes substitute Shaun Pierrepont floated in a harmless looking cross which Worsnop made a has off, electing to push the ball out from under the bar with the ball just being out of reach of the onrushing Clarke.
Guiseley : Jon Worsnop, Anthony Lloyd, Dave Merris, Chris Holland, Danny Ellis, James Cotterill, Steve Burton, Craig Bentham, Lee Tuck (Mark Bett 84), Adam Muller, Liam Needham. Unused subs. Lee Askham, Luke Malcher, Harpal Singh, Aaron Ratchford.
Frickley Athletic : Adam Nicklin, Grant Normington, Matty Bird (Shaun Pierrepont 74), Danny Walsh, Steve Heath, Dean Jones, Danny Clarke, Matty Bloor (Phil Lindley 11), Lee Morris, Jonathan Groome, Chris White. Unused subs. Miles Smith, Ben Simpson
Referee : Mr. G. Liddle

There was alot of people at GAFC today The ref was shocking. How the hell did none of their players get sent off I think Chris Holland made a few mistakes today in the secondhalf Bett should of been bought on earlier. Why is he playing a midfielder upfront when he has a striker on the bench Also i dont understand y burton stands infront of the keeper every time he goes to kick the ball and he dosnt even make an attempt to stop it. So then he has to run back to get to an onside posistion what is the point? AB

Bett should of been bought on earlier. Although Guiseley were pressurising more and more as the second half went on, Mark Bett (unless he's not fit) must have been watching and wondering why he's swapped Avenue's bench for Guiseley's. A highlight for me was that the single half time score announcement was Farsley's with the dry comment '...for those that are interested'. Thanks Aidie or Bruce. Shame we were losing/lost. I also think I got my first sighting of nik. It was at some distance but is there a likeness to Jeremy from the documentary Airport? I see Brice Tiani came on as a second half sub for Avenue (unusual signing as I can't remember him ever playing for Farsley).

I'm not talking to you any more.
And it's actually Peter Jackson/Kevin Smith/Jack Osbourne/Elton John/Johnny Vegas.
