Does anyone remember Alan Easton? He was/is my favourite Guiseley player of all time, and one of a select band of footballers at any level that could entice me to a match just because they were playing.
Alan Easton was the nearest thing to Eric Cantona that I've ever seen in any player. He could win a match on his own, and could dazzle you with the most sublime and amazing skills that surely deserved a far, far bigger audience.
The approximate time frame was somewhere between about 1967 and 1973/4 - Bruce will perhaps confirm this?
If anyone gets the chance to talk to Les Wood at any time, just ask him what it was like to be in the presence of this footballing genius. He played in the same Guiseley team and marvelled at the skills of this largely unsung and unknown footballing genius just like the rest of us who were privileged to have seen him...
