Whilst having a chat with a couple of the 'Seagulls' at the beginning of the game, they wondered whether they were at the right ground when they arrived.
We must be the only BSN club (or Pritt Stik) for that matter to have no signage outside the ground. I have some A3 paper and a decent dot matrix printer if that helps

Yeh good point there The only sign we have is the one shared with the cricket club and the other one by the bowling green which is very small AB

It would no doubt entail a parlance with Leeds planning office Never mind then Guiseley Factory Workers club made a planning application to put a sign up outside the club and Leeds City Council turned it down flat. It seems to be OK for anyone else to plaster up the town with gaudy billboards of every kind, but when a long established club tries to do something by the book the response was met with near hysteria from the powers that be. As the footy club seem to fit into a fairly similar social category I reckon our chances of getting permission for anything new are pretty slim...

The on line Planning Portal advises that "You need consent for almost all hoardings, illuminated signs outside the deemed consent allowances, fascia signs and projecting signs on shop fronts or business premises which are higher than 4.6m above ground level and most advertisements on gable ends. You also need permission for signs advertising goods not sold at the premises where the sign is placed." www.communities.gov.uk/documents/planningandbuilding/pdf/326679.pdf

You may have noticed in recent years several of those brown tourist signs directing you to F(C)FC from the ring road. The club had tried for years to get such signs put up but they only got agreement once we became successful. I suppose the council's arguement was that they wouldn't do it for a few travelling supporters but with ex-league clubs turning up it was worth their while for the effect on the local economy to properly recognise the Nest. (or maybe it was just a friendship between our President and the local leader of the council that clinched it). Anyway wouldn't similar signs from the ringroad to Nethermore be justified?

Maybe we need to get a couple of our fans to walk around Guiseley pre match with an advertising board. I could think of a few people who would fit the bill
