...Totally agree with making passing reference where such is relevant, though, hence the change I've made. Please forgive the pretentious sentence construction above- am currently reading Pride and Prejudice on the beach!! I've heard a fair bit recently about this re-rendering of the classics with a modern flavour. After "Pride and Prejudice on the Beach", maybe you could try these? Sense and Sensibility on the Otley Run Jane Eyre on a G-string and its sequel: Jane Eyre in a G-string Little Women on the Pill Mill on the Floss2 Lorna Doone with the Kids Rebecca de Bike-ShedsOr from the football section... Catch-22 on the Pitch Ulys-ses on 2013/14 Mansfield Park Avenue (a Satirical Novel in Three Volumes) 1984-4-2 A Tale of Two Cities, pt I: the 1969 FA Cup Final A Tale of Two Cities, pt II: the 2011 FA Cup FinalThe list seems endless (I fear).

Awesome. I was actually reading Pride and Prejudice because someone had leant me Prawns and Prejudice, a rewriting of the former based in the Devon resort of Salcombe, where my grandparents lived when I was little.
I thought I should read the original before the reworking, but in the case of your list I would probably sooner read the new versions.
For football attempts I can only offer:
Twelfth Night Without A Game (the Harrogate Town pitch tragedy) Hamlet and a Pint Great Expectations of Zack Dale Gone with the Wind and Presumably (Though Unreported) Last Season's Squad Players (also published under the title Much Ado About Nothing Official) The Catcher in the Ryman League The Invisible Man (Nicky Boshell's autobiography) So Long and Thanks for all the Chips

That's disappointing.
I just saw the heading of this thread and thought the FA had rejigged the Cup draw.
