Michael Fowler has signed from Fleetwood Town on loan. Good grief, are we reduced to signing EastEnders rejects now?

Afternoon all, Hereford fan here in peace. We've been crying out for a proven goal scorer all season, what can we expect from Liburd? I hope those of you who travelled down to Edgar Street have recovered. what a dreadful game, god knows how we won. Good luck for the rest of the season, I hope you stay up. Cheers. Mike. Good player who can score goals but doesn’t always show the killer instinct needed to make the most of his ability. Really nice guy and I hope he’s a big success for you.

Andy Holdsworth says Fowler is a good signing for us so that’ll do for me.

I heard a tale that Rowan was on contract till the end of next season. That would explain the odd timing - few games left but Hereford safe and us mired in a relegation battle - we're desperate not to pay someone over summer.
For me he's been another on the list of forwards who haven't been used in the right way. As said elsewhere, someone who wants to play the channels / facing goal, but who we've tried to lump the ball at. It didn't work last season, it hasn't worked this.
I know a section of the support don't rate him, but look at how desperate the alternatives are.

Think Rowan has the attributes to be a monster at this level - pace, power etc. He needs to play on the shoulder and receive the ball on the deck or in front of him. Unfortunately, we’ve invariably hoofed the ball to him over the season and a half he’s been with us. I heard he was on stupid money so getting rid of him before the end of the season would make sense. I’m hoping there will be another striker coming in tomorrow otherwise I’m left bemused that we would think Kayode, Clayts or a 17yr old academy striker would have sufficient goals in them for the remaining games. Unless Archers injury isn’t as bad as it looked as that looked a season finisher

Rowan is a decent player needs to show more aggression needs a kick up the you know what to get him going. Nice fella hope he does well at Hereford but not against us. Onwards and upwards.

Could anyone explain to me why signed Akeel Francis only to then immediately ship him out somewhere on a dual registration?
It seems incredible to me that we should sign a goalscorer - presumably for the purpose of scoring goals - and then decide he's not quite what we need and send him off somewhere to just keep fit until we decide what we should do with him. Could there be any other reason than that?

I too am a little surprised that Rowan has gone (& been allowed to go) when we have 7 games to go & still need a couple of wins for security (which means we need to score goals). Can understand if he's one of the well pay players, but with us losing a striker on Tuesday who will be starting up front tomorrow ..... Kayode ? the new 17 yr old ?

Rowan wasn’t just well paid, he was Paul Cox-level well paid. Not his fault he was offered silly money, and he stuck it out more than some (cough, cough Southwell, cough cough Rooney) but relegation meant he was a luxury we couldn’t really afford and had to offload as soon as a decent offer came in. At least we won’t play Hereford again this season so the spectre of Rowan scoring the goal that sends us down is extinguished. I’ve spoken to Rowan a few times and he’s a good lad, and I wish him all the best. His music taste is dreadful, mind. Who knows what happened with Akeel? Perhaps he was bought more with next season in mind, when it looked like we’d have Rowan for the rest of this campaign. Hope against hope Lewis’ injury is not as bad as it looked but that looked for all the world like a season ending hamstring injury to me. Here’s hoping Martin Fowler is as good as Andy Holdsworth says he is. I don’t doubt Clayton and Odejayi will graft to the end, but we need a bit of spark and pace up front to play off them if we’re to survive. Also I thought while Purver and Halls were imperious against Curzon and rightly receive a lot of the plaudits, Jack Dyche was splendid too. Incredible work rate, never stopped running and delivers a decent corner. He’s a really underrated player and I’m glad to see him getting a crack in the team.

Agree almost completely - Dyche looks like a Key Player (FM-speak) given his delivery and passing range. Begs the question as to where he’s been. We will see who starts tomorrow

Thought Dyche had an injury which has kept him out of side until recently. Could be wrong though.

Will was amongst the substitutes at times today, he seemed happy enough.

Whatever league we are in next season imo we need a new back four and a goalie, plus a ball playing midfielder or two and two good strikers.
