Whatever league we are in next season imo we need a new back four and a goalie, plus a ball playing midfielder or two and two good strikers. ^ A whole new team then. Dewhurst is a great prospect, (in my opinion) doubt we'll be able to keep him. What we most need are two strikers who are able and willing to put a shift in, and score. A decent left footed winger would be good too.

Agreed, it would be great to keep Marcus but like you I suspect he is destined for bigger and better things.

I think we are in danger of being harsh... Dewhurst will leave to bigger and better things - presumably a loan at NL or L2 or even L1 - we will remember him fondly in years to come However, to say we need a whole new back 4 seems a bit harsh. Scotty surely has a future. Whilst there would be arguments for each of Moyo, Niall and Josh L. Personally, I don’t necessarily rate Halls - don’t get me wrong he’s good but not very good in any one position Similarly there are plenty in MF who should be given opportunity - Alex, Will, Felix, Dyche, Kingsley - we may want to ask why each of them haven’t always performed and is this linked to the “management” Up front - Yes absolutely we need a rethink - Here’s hoping Rhys has been released and we can extend Robbie “Hallelujah” Fowler’s loan for the first 6 months - he looks some prospect, not sure he we wouldn’t play him.

On the basis of this season I think there's only Cliff Moyo and Scott Smith earned the dubious distinction of a new deal.
The management clearly don't fancy Joe Green or Will Thornton. In their shoes I'd leave for my own good.
We've seen enough of Heaton, Odejayi and Clayton to know they have little or nothing to offer at this level.
As for the rest, average or inconsistent this season. Take a punt and retain them? Or is it that they'd benefit from playing under different management?

Think we have assembled a reasonably decent squad after the dire circumstances the management team took over. To get rid of so many players and bring in a team on a much reduced budget was a mammoth task. So for me this season was a survival season and hopefully we will do that and start planning for next season then we can judge. Agreed we do need a goal scorer and a keeper but apart from that we are not far from a good group of players who look like they want to play for the club. Onwards and upwards.

It might have helped if we hadn’t lost Swain and Kennedy before we got started. Or lost Scott Garner to injury for a big chunk of the season. The resulting reshuffles have meant we haven’t had much of a settled defensive set up all season. Hopefully a less disrupted pre season and good replacements for Langley, Cantrill and Dewhurst (all of whom should be off to better things next) will see a better start to next season. We still need a ball playing holding midfielder if we can find one. I feel like Barkers has been bought with that in mind but needs to work on his first touch which is akin to trying to control the football using a bag of spanners. Haven’t seen enough of a fully fit Kennedy Digie either to make a qualified judgement of where he’s best employed. Again, get these two a pre season under their belt and we’ll see where we are. Really hope we hang on to James, Purver and Hatfield but wonder if we are able to use all of them sufficiently to make it worth hanging around. Purver is a young player and his performances should have caught a few eyes this season. I wouldn’t blame him for wanting to move up a level and if an offer came in from a National League club or higher it’d be hard to argue with. And obviously we’re still on the lookout for that near mythical twenty goal a season striker. Ceesay has scored 14 goals in 14 appearances for the Academy this year, be nice to see him kick on. We might have to look at the support that guy will have in terms of down the wing. Morrison has promise and I really think deserves a bit more game time than he’s had. Felix has pace and skill but frustrates when he drifts out of games. If we can find someone in between these guys to provide a killer pass or two and a constant worry to opposing full backs that’d be great. Tabish Hussein has had an injury frustrated season but hopefully up to full fitness next year. Provided we stay up, I think evolution not revolution is in order this summer. It’s been a frustrating season but there are more reasons to be cheerful, and our luck has to turn eventually right?

Clayton as the assistant manager and not a player would suit. I’d like to keep him here for the job. However I do feel you missed out Purver, Hatfield and James as well as Andy Halls from your list of deserved.

Green and Spider - can both go, or Spider to stay on as backup. Need to bring in a first teamer. Halls, Moyo, Garner, Thornton, Heaton - I'd keep and add a specialist left or centre back (depending on where Heaton plays) - unless we can keep Langley in which case one of Thornton or Heaton can be let go if money's tight. They're young and willing so I'd still try to keep both. Purver, Hatfield, James, Morrison, Felix, James, Dyche - I'd keep and try to add another winger and a grizzled Walton/Boshell sort of midfielder. Barkers and Smith I'd let go. Odejayi - keep as an 'option'. Sign two strikers with a good record if one from the academy is going to be ready to step up, otherwise we need one more. Clayton can (sadly) go or stop playing, and I'm assuming/hoping Thompson doesn't return. That's a squad of about 20, so we might need one or two more, but barring horrendous injuries again like this year, it would be upper mid table and pushing for playoffs. Easy!

Reece Thompson has been sentenced to 40 months in prison and a 10 year restraining order at Nottingham Crown Court. Sorry I am c**p at linksl but it is on the web n Lincolnshire Live. Beat his girlfriend with an iron bar, made her eat paint and smashed mirrors over her head. What an animal.

The story on Lincolnshire live said the club would make a comment soon. Hope the comment is the animal is sacked and he gets the same treatment in jail then left to rot. No place in society never mind a football club.

What a pathetic human being he is. Don’t want anyone who would subject a woman to this EVER associated with this football club again.
