Top tier football has unilaterally stopped the season mid-flow, whilst the Conference are debating a similar course of action. Yet lower leagues will it seems currently continue. Now, if a limit of attendees comes into force at some point (Nicola Sturgeon suggests 500), at what level might the keen football fan pitch their ongoing support for the game? Whitby Town (NPL Prem) at 499 average? Hardly! Only a couple of temporary supporters (net of those regulars in isolation) and you won’t get in. Sheffield (NPL – SE) at 343 average? Hmm, lots of Blades and Owls fans at a loose end. Garforth Town (NECL Prem) at 153 average? Getting there (…but it is Garforth). Harrogate Railway (NECL One) at a mere 97 average (and 225 max)? This looks about right. Shouldn’t get too busy – but still advisable to avoid the train where possible.
