The Young Lions had a fairly comfortable passage through to the next round with a 4-0 win at Worsborough this evening where they will travel to Tadcaster Albion on a date yet to be decided. Two first half goals from Oliver Storr and an OG set Guiseley on the path to victory with Danyaal Khan and K'Marni Miller's second half efforts sealing the victory.
The visitors could have had a couple more while the home side provided one or two anxious moments in the first period, especially when the hit the base of the upright, but goalkeeper Callum Bradbury capped a confident performance, that included two superb saves, when he saved a spot kick in the dying minutes of the game. But in the end class proved to be difference between the two sides and thats no slight on Worsborough who played their part in an entertaining cup-tie.

Really enjoyable game last week and the academy were more than worthy winners, some good football and finishes from the lads too.
Worsbrough is an unusual ground which is shared with a cricket pitch so only has three sides and you can watch the football from the main road too! AB

The academy were simply excellent last night and totally outplayed Tadcaster hitting ten goals in the process!
There was some good finishes but Danyaal Khan's second where he showed balance, strength and control before firing past the keeper calmly and Kyle Burrows' rocket from 25 yards out were the standout goals.
A home tie in the second round qualifying too, well played lads! AB

Guiseley progressed to the Third Qualifying Round of the FA Youth Cup with an emphatic 7-0 victory over Gainsborough Trinity at Nethermoor this evening.
Four goals from Jack Mason and a brace from the penalty spot by Danyaal Khan, with Robbie Murray getting a seventh with the last kick of the game, now sees the Young Lions host Hartlepool United at Nethermoor in the next round during week commencing 16 October 2023.

Aanother brilliant performance from the Young Lions yesterday evening as they steamrollered visitors Trinity with what could have been an even more emphatic victory.
Suspect Hartlepool will provide far stiffer opposition in the next round but with this talented Academy side who knows?

An entertaining night at Nethermoor on Friday, another excellent performance from the academy who more than deserved to progress to the final qualifying round. Some great play too and the Young Lions were without full backs K'Marni Miller through suspension and Kyle Burrows through injury. An interesting draw with Hartlepool to come to Nethermoor the week after next. Well played lads! AB
