Hello and welcome to the 15th edition of my weekly blog.
Having told you all last week what I enjoy at Guiseley, this time round I’m going to say what I’d like to see added to the club.
BRAND NEW STANDS
The main additions to the Fort, should, at least in my opinion, be revamped main and terraced stands.
The horrific arson attack on the main stand should be put behind us and we must rebuild it with some historic meaning. We should attempt to replicate what was left behind as much as possible as soon as we can.
We should decorate the terraced stands to make them look more attractive. A painting of the club logo somewhere wouldn’t go amiss and the stands could be done up in club colours. This would make the club more welcoming and give us a colourful edge.
SCOREBOARDS
I went to see Everton with BrotherBrid and FatherBrid nearly a fortnight ago and couldn’t help but think Guiseley could do with scoreboards similar to those used at Goodison.
Two boards should be placed in the ground (one at the top of the main stand and the other on top of the big terraced stand).
It will be easy to see how much time is left, the addition of sponsors on the board would earn the club more money and Bruce wouldn’t have to read out the raffle numbers as he does sometimes forget!
RETURN OF THE SWEET SHOP
As part of BrotherBrid’s recent education on the history of the club he told me there used to be a little sweet shop just before you entered the bar.
It would be fantastic to bring this shop back as the club may then attract more kids to spend more money and again make more profit.
Doubtless the likes of Otleybard and James would also be seen buying a few gobstoppers...
That’s it for this week folks.
Next week I will review our Boxing Day clash with Bradford Park Avenue.
Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year everyone!
