Piotr had a great first half. But why do we sometimes talk about goalies as if they are not a part of the team. We'd never say something like we'd have lost that game if our strikers didn't score the goals but we do say we'd have lost it in the first half if it wasn't for the keeper. He's part of the team and contributed greatly yesterday. It was a game of two halves. We were camped in their half in the second. A draw was a fair result but I don't think it would have been robbery either if we had snatched a win. One quibble though. Why isn't Tuck starting up front with Hanson? Especially if it's true that his loan spell is coming to an end soon.

Great goal by Pugh but its a "funny old game " isn't it ?? In my opinion he was the most inneffective player on the pitch but a fair result overall. I will also say that we seem to have far too many loan players at the moment and I feel that unless these are made permanent then the situation could rebound on us during the crucial games ahead especially when some of them are no better than we had before. A little more thought in our final play in and around the box with quicker releasing of the ball would be a great improvement and lead to more vital goals, as I see the play-offs being out of reach unless this part of our play is addressed.
PS Skiba had a good game but he needs to improve his goal-kicking distribution - I believe his poor clearance led to the Witton goal and I am sure he is aware of this.

Great 2nd half performance by the lads & deserved the equaliser even though WA will feel aggrieved at conceding so late, (cracking goal though, worthy of a point).
Good to see after going one down, we kept our heads up & battled for the full 90 mins again (remember Frickley last week ).
Piotr certainly saved us on a few occasions yesterday & looks a good keeper apart from his, dare I say, dreadful kicking which on more than one occasion nearly caught the defense out (& did give away the corner for Witton's goal). But his saves made up for his kicking yesterday, thats for sure.
At the end of the day, a draw against the runaway leaders, who are going to win the league despite Fleetwood's best efforts, is not that bad & Buxton draw at home against lower opposition (although Eastwood had a handsome win & are now 3rd).
Its a pity Hednesford play on Monday night's as the lads could do with an extra days rest after Sat, then we play away again on Good Friday & Monday. A few tired players which is where the subs & fringe players need to step up to mark when required.
Onwards & hopefully upwards.

And our new keeper showed his mettle by keeping Witton out during the first half when we could easily have been two down at the break. Add to that the Safe Hands award and isn't it time to give it a rest AB?

Bigjessie, It's a part of Adam's condition (see separate analysis of his symptoms on a his own thread) that makes it very difficult for him to give it a rest. He's very rigid in his thinking. Once he gets an idea, and particularly a grievance into his head, he won't let go. He'll be like a dog with a bone, chuntering on for years to come about how Dicko was a better keeper than Piotr and never accepting anyone else between the sticks. Another way of looking at it would be as an obsessive infactuation or love towards Dicko. So Yeadoner is almost right with his hunch that Adam has found girls, it's just that it's not a girl but a goalkeeper.

I think the simple facts are that Dicko is a Guiseley legend - and always will be - but Piotr Skiba is also more than OK, and we need to accept him as 'one of our own'...All for one and one for all; things could be much, much worse than this...
