No easy games at this stage of season, but Witton & Fleetwood away will be real toughies. Mind you, if you think we've got it hard, take a look at Buxtons run in. 10 games left, 6 of which are Eastwood, Fleetwood & Gateshead home & away (not counting Marine at home as well).
I think it will be an interesting finish to the season with probably Witton champs, Fleetwood runners up & 3 remaining play-off places between Eastwood, Buxton, Gateshead, us & Marine.
Personally, I think joining Fleetwood in play-off's will be Gateshead & Eastwood with, hopefully, us pipping Buxton to last place.
But what do I know !

What a differnce a day makes.
The next two games will be massive for us. Eastwood dont play on monday (could be 4 point gap on same amount of games)
Then Eastwood play buxton on sat 29th (draw or buxton win) Guseley beat fleetwood.
Lots of if's, but its in our hands.

As I've been saying for a while, I think 70 points makes the play offs and I'm certain that 73 will, so we now need a minimum 4 wins from 7 matches - of which three are at home (Stamford, Hednesford and Kendal), and four are away (Fleetwood, Leek, Witton and Worksop). Clearly, Witton and Fleetwood away look tough, but if we can avoid defeat in these games it should't matter if we do the business in the others. Interestingly, we have been more successful in the League on our travels than we have been at home this season. Away from home we have gained 30 points and scored 32 goals in 16 games. At home, from one game more we have gained only 28 points and scored 26 goals, and we also went out of all four cup competitions at home so sadly its hasn't been Fortress Nethermoor this season. On this basis, an away tie in the play offs, should we get there, might be preferrable!
Looking at our closest rivals, Eastwood and Buxton, as Whitelions points out, our game in hand on Eastwood is on Monday at home to Stamford, where a win is vital. Eastwood have 6 games left, their last 4 are H Worksop, H Ossett, H Lincoln and A Leek, but before that their next two games are home and away to Buxton on the next two Saturdays.
Buxton have 9 games left and have a very difficult run in. They play Ashton at home on Monday, followed by the two games with Eastwood and sandwiched in between they are at home to Fleetwood on 1 April (the day we visit Leek). Then after playing Frickley at home, their last four games are A Fleetwood, H Gateshead, H Marine and A Gateshead.
A couple of draws between Eastwood and Buxton would suit us best I think. No doubt there will be some unexpected results between now and 26 April - main thing is for Guiseley to keep going at the level of commitment and intensity we saw in the second half against Witton and was carried into the Hednesford and Whitby games - then we should prevail.

Hi everyone,I am an old author using a new name.We are fourth and can stay here if we win at home, the away results suggest points at Fleetwood and Witton, and I think Eastwood will drop away.

Generally agree with the last two posts. Whilst not wanting to put unnecessary presure on the squad it is now about maintaing good form through performances and the results will normally take care of themselves. When you look at all levels of the game it is the teams that succumb to pressure and expectations. Feet on the ground approach and not head in the clouds is called for from here on in. Hard working performances grinding out results if necessary will do nicely, with flair thrown in when opportunities arise. Mistakes will be made but lets make them away from danger areas. The team will feel tension themselves and sense it from the stands so encouragement is vital, no matter who is in or out of the side or who is favourite and who is not. If we want to see a promoted side then its all hands to the pump in having an all important part to play.

Adam
Might I suggest a new catchphrase for your threadstoppers?
If you were to say "I couldn't have put it better myself" (or its equivalent in Briddish) it would indicate your total agreement with the previous post.
It would also, in 99% of cases, be true.
Cheers OB

I've been nicknamed with a load of variations of my surname including Bridders, Bridlington and Briddy as well as the standard Bridson.
But I've never heard of Briddish before. Is this a language Adam specialises in?
