Now we've actually updated the fixture list to show the games in this current season are we in any danger of having the league table brought up to date as well? Last season's league position doesn't make particularly interesting reading when things have moved on so well. What administrative effort there is seems to be centred purely around the first team and the reserves get little attention (with the great exception of those involved and who work extremely hard). Frankly, my dear, IT AIN'T GOOD ENOUGH! Several digits need to be well and truly extracted!

A month ago I asked if the second team league table could be brought into this century but unfortunately (and not unexpectedly) my request has been totally ignored, which just goes to prove the other point raised in that thread. May I ask those concerned what is the point of showing last season's league table? I realize that I am completely wasting my time as my request will continue to be ignored but at least I've got it off my chest. On the extremely off chance that anyone of authority reads this, would you also please publish the results of February's second team fixtures and who they have left to play and when.
Thank you.

After Guiseley Reserves excellent 4-1 win over title rivals Farsley Celtic on Saturday this is, I believe the updated league table (Lancashire League website table is not yet updated!)
1 Guiseley 20 15 2 3 61 25 47 2 Farsley Celtic Reserves 20 14 2 4 41 27 44 3 Bradford Park Avenue Reserves 17 12 1 4 49 18 37 4 Wakefield Reserves 15 9 3 3 35 27 30 5 Stalybridge Celtic Reserves 15 8 1 6 35 28 25 6 Woodley Sports 17 8 1 8 43 39 25 7 Ossett Albion Reserves 15 7 1 7 34 36 22 8 Harrogate Railway Reserves 17 6 3 8 39 40 21 9 Pontefract Collieries Reserves 18 5 5 8 22 30 20 10 Thackley Reserves 15 4 5 7 20 26 17 11 Hyde United Reserves 13 4 1 8 23 31 13 12 Ossett Town reserves 13 3 2 8 17 37 11 13 Harrogate Town Reserves 14 3 1 10 18 36 10 14 Yorkshire Amateur Reserves 19 2 2 15 31 68 8
Saturday's was another excellent win by the Reserves, although in the first-half they were probably below par. We got a good crowd in for this clash and they were well entertained in a game of cut and thrust with no quarter given. Steve Thompson returned in goal after sustaining a broken toe and with the lads not having played since February 12 they were a bit ring rusty football wise but certainly not fitness wise as Mr Brockie has kept their noses to the grindstone over recent weeks with training three times a week! Tommo's first job was to pick the ball out of the net after he was rooted to the spot as a Farsley free-kick flew into the net. Dan Husband was restricted somewhat by a dead leg and while he was incapacitated by this his teammates seemed to continually play the ball to him as the outlet at the back. It was like a magnet and he was finding it difficult to recover. Recover he did enough to get up front and put his side level after good work by Callum White. By the break regular skipper Tom Higman, named on the subs bench, had arrived after finishing work. He came on to give the defence extra steel with Husband moving to right-back and White to left-back. Higman paired up with Carl Palmer, a recent siging who has proved a great acquisition in the centre of our defence. Palmer had a commanding game on Saturday. An out of sorts Liam Robinson and James Sylvester, who had shown good strength against an uncompromising Farsley, came off for Higman and new signing Adam Edwards to take the field. Edwards slotted in up front alongside the battling Luke Hudson. Will Boye, who had looked a little jaded, moved up to left wing and was later to play a crucial part in the game netting two goals. Guiseley moved ahead at 2-1 when Edwards was unable to convert a chance but Boye was on hand to smash the ball home. An excellent move, with Luke Hudson demonstrating his superb qualities, ended with Hudson netting a great goal. Mark Wilby then replaced Will Hutton in midfield and made some telling challenges as Guiseley continued to step up a gear and leave their title rivals in their wake. Boye sealed a fine win with his second goal. Guiseley Reserves: Steve Thompson; Callum White, Dan Husband, Carl Palmer, Will Boye; Adam Hill, Joe Hendrie, Will Hutton (Mark Wilby 80 mins), Liam Robinson (Adam Edwards 50 mins); James Sylvester (Tom Higman 50 mins), Luke Hudson. Subs not used: Sam Jacomb, Sam Robinson.
The Reserves' fixtures have been arranged, re-arranged and re-arranged time and again due to the constant cxhanges in UniBond fixtures and of course bad weather and we apologise to spectators for not always having the information they need regarding fixtures. We have to slot in as and when quite often and it is a difficult job getting our games in. However, our final run in is now hopefully plotted and should pan out as follows (unless there are more UniBond postponements and re-arrangements!)
Saturday, March 21st v Bradford Park Avenue at home 3pm Tuesday March 24th v Stalybridge Celtic at home 7.45pm Friday, March 27th at Wakefield 7.45pm Saturday, April 4th home to Harrogate Town 3 pm Tuesday, April 6th at Ossett Town 7.45pm Saturday, April 25 home to Ossett Albion 3 pm
Hope to see you at all of these games as the boys bid to land the Lancashire League East Division title in what has been a highly competitive season so far.
