Vinnie took the lads to Ossett Albion on Saturday, a side rumoured to have lost a number of players since Paul Lines lost his job in charge of the Reserve team there. Vinnie was impressed with the team he found up against his lads and feels the new Ossett Albion will prove a match for anyone in the division.
As it was Guiseley edged a 2-1 victory with Chris Davey netting the winner in time added on! Guiseley's first goal came from Rob Bradley.
Danny Forrest was back in the Guiseley fold having rejoined the club from Harrogate Railway. He came on as a second-half sub as did new goalkeeper Ben Imeson, a former Stockport County youth player.
Team: Steve Thompson (Ben Imeson 46 mins); Callum White, Dan Husband, Luke Hudson, John Cullen; Adam Hill, Joe Hendrie, John Douglas, Chris Davey; Rob Bradley (Dan Forrest 60 mins), Liam Robinson (Fernando Moke 60 mins). Sub not used: Mark Wilby.
The Reserves have had to concede home advantage in the Wharfedale FA Cup and will now travel to play Guiseley Red Lion (formerly Albert Yeadon) in Micklefield Park, Rawdon, on Saturday with a 1.30pm kick-off.
If you want to warm up before the big FC United match on Sunday then come along to Micklefield Park (parking by the library at Rawdon traffic lights) and cheer on the Reserves as they bid to reach the semi-finals.
Vinnie, Stuart, Rachel, Kate and the boys will be glad of your support
