Well go on then PTF. The Reserves were not up to standard in the first-half against Harrogate Railway, who looked a well-organised side, and no doubt got the half-time roasting from Vinnie. Railway were another youthful side and the warm conditions made it hard work for both sides. Guiseley had around 80 per cent of the possession but were unable to turn it into goals in the first-half. The 'keeper blocked an effort from big striker Paul Wills when he was put clear by a good ball from Adam Hill. Ben Higginson made some good saves in goal. In the second-half teenager Will Hutton, struggling a bit after missing much of our training due to a trip to the USA. was replaced by an even younger midfielder in Sam Robinson and Paul Wills was replaced up front by Adam Edwards. Edwards, denied the chance of taking penalties he had earned in the pre-season friendlies, was given the chance from the spot after Luke Hudson was fouled and Edwards made no mistake with a well-taken penalty to put Guiseley ahead, The victory was sealed when Liam Robinson took his opportunity well with an excellent finish. Guiseley came much stronger in the second-half and really should have won by a wider margin. Guiseley had been a little subdued in this game but will look for better things in the cool cool cool of the evening when these two sides meet again on Wednesday night at Railway where Guiseley will have to come to terms with the sloping pitch. Guiseley's team was: Ben Higginson; Callum White, Dan Husband, Calum Strodder, Danny Todd; Adam Hill, Will Hutton (Sam Robinson), Chris Davey, Liam Robinson; Paul Wills (Adam Edwards), Luke Hudson (capt). Subs not used: Clark Lydon, Chris McCarthy, Jamie Cairns. Nice to see players not involved supporting the team. Two wins out of two - not a bad start!

Went to watch the Ressies yesterday, and thought that both sides dinked and popped it around in a really appealing way. Very good game to watch and especially easy on the eye almost throughout. Harrogate's no. 10 was worth the almost negligible admission charge on his own... All in all, a very good win for Guiseley in a very entertaining game, and supporters could do far worse than support these lads when the First Team are away...

You see some little gems in these games don't you Yeadoner? Callum White's dad told me that the Harrogate No 10 was with his other son Aidan down at Leeds United at one time so he obviously has a good pedigree.

Who was the guy in the bench with a cast on his arm? AB

Was he in the bench or on the bench Adam? If he was in the bench then maybe that is how he damaged his arm. That would be our new signing Danny Berry who damaged his arm on the 3G in training and is out of the side and out of work at the moment because of it. Not many one-armed chefs around are there! Hopefully he will be back in action soon and challenging for a place in the side. Nice to see him there supporting the team though.

Don't think he'd be much good as a ringer out for a window cleaner either , or he could av had a job at Part Time Towers. I agree with resec the skill and comittment of the u19s last season was excellent , don't know why they were scrapped. Only thing, from the reserves to the first team the gap is too big for the majority to step up.

Isn't that the same anywhere? If you can bring one or two a season through, that's a success.
Chris Davey is now a fully-fledged (if underused) member of the first-team squad, and Callum White will surely break through soon.

And Chris Davey scored a goal in the friendly at Ossett Albion that's unlikely to be bettered for many a day. For those who didn't see it, it was a perfectly executed chip from the far right of the area and beat the Ossett keeper through a marvellous blend of perfect lift and backspin, and it's unlikely that any keeper at this level, or any other, could have got anywhere near it to keep it out...
