Guiseley Reserves gave their worst display for a long long time against a Thackley side assembled to impress and trial out new players for their first tream's new manager Dave Morgan - who has already recruited striker Luke Hudson and goalkeeper Ben Higginson from Guiseley's reserve squad. Thackley signed on nine players on the night and they performed well whereas Guiseley were found lacking in this game on many fronts. With Liam Robinson unavailable due to work the squad was re-jigged and first team sub keeper Aaron Ratchford made a rare onfield appearance in a Guiseley shirt. Graham Shaw lost the ball in the centre of the field and it was quickly whipped down towards the Guiseley goal where Ratchford was caught unawares. Guiseley missed the constant probing and pace of Liam Robinson on the left and too many players were ineffectual leading to the hair dryer treatment from Vinnie. Callum White as ever was a shining light continually battling to get forward and create something but there was little or no support and one or two need to look at their personal fitness after all the hard work that has gone on by the majority in pre-season and since. A lot of the basics were forgotten in this game and too many were prepared to hide rather than do something about it but you don't get to the top of the table without having ability and the lads must put this game behind them and start out again. Vinnie replaced strikers Will Boye and Graham Shaw with Adam Edwards and Paul Wills and this injected some pace and energy up front. As Guiseley were starting to get back into the game in the second-half they were caught out by a second sucker punch Thackley goal and there was no way back. After the excellent football we have been served up by this Guiseley team this season I suppose we all came away from this game hugely disappointed. Our expectations are high for this team, they have proved what they are capable of and when it falls below that level we are all disappointed. Team: Aaron Ratchford; Callum White, Calum Strodder, Tom Higman, Danny Berry; Adam Hill, Will Hutton (Sam Robinson 40), Chris Davey, Danny Todd; Graham Shaw (Paul Wills), Will Boye (Adam Edwards). Subs not used: Clark Lydon, Jamie Cairns. The Reserves are without a game again on Saturday due to the first team's home draw in the FA Cup. A number of Reserve team games now need re-arranging.

thought 2 centre halves had decent games up against clifford who is a good striker at this level. The young lad who came on in midfield was class picking up quality positions and trying to make things happen. 2nd goal was a killer but guiseley were slightly weakened as you say and thackley put out a very first teamey side.
