Guiseley Red Lion called the cup game off without calling in a referee. They said the pitch was unfit but the match referee called by to check the pitch and said it was fit! Red Lion have been fined and excluded from the competition meaning Guiseley go through to the semi-finals in which they will visit West Yorkshire Premier Division side Otley Town. Not a satisfactory way to get to the semi-finals of any competition and not one we are too happy about. It should be all about wanting to play football. We now travel to old friends and rivals Otley Town, just a shame Chris Davey's brother James is at a wedding that day and will not be playing against him. The other semi-final is between Pool AFC and Ventus Yeadon Celtic. Games to be played on Saturday, December 19th 1.30pm kick-off so anyone twiddling their thumbs and not Christmas shopping prior to the first team's Sunday clash with FCUM is welcome to come down to Pool Road, next to Stephen Smith's Garden Centre and give the Reserves your support. One thing's for sure Otley Town won't be shipping out of this competition as Trinity University and Red Lion have done against us in the two previous rounds. Should be a good game between two decent sides with lots of talented young players on view on both sides.
