It would be nice if anyone from the coaching teams of reserves / first team took an interest in the junior sides . 2 of the current reserves are from last seasons U16 but nobody takes an interest in the U16 , U17 or U18 teams .

We could reverse the question and ask how many of the U-16, 17 and 18 teams ever come and watch the Reserves to see what the standard is and where their future path lies. Both Stuart Gray and Vince Brockie have taken an interest in the younger players but of course Vinnie has moved on now. Through them watching the younger players train we have the likes of Sam Robinson and Clark Lydon in the Reserve set up. Duncan Beckwith who came through the juniors is also in the reserve set up. Of course just like the managers and coaches of the youth teams the Reserve team managers have got plenty of committments of their own playing twice a week and training twice a week as well as working etc, reporting on games for the first team manager, watching players etc A number of the Reserve team squad have come up through the junior ranks including the skipper Chris Davey, Liam Robinson, Sam Robinson, Clark Lydon, Dan Husband, Jamie Cairns, Duncan Beckwith and Sam Jacomb to name a few. The managers also watch the Wharfedale FA representative games and notice players who come from the junior set up performing for them. Things could always be better no doubt but if any of the junior managers have players they think are capable of making the step up then they should have a word with Mick or Stuart but the Reserve team squad is very popular and even at this stage of the season we are having to turn players away after trials as we have a regular squad of around 24 all training twice a week.

sorry pal you have got your head stuck in the sand why reverse the question knowing mick he will have some idea of each age sections talent but wasnt it only last week when he didnt have a team at eleven in the morning ?i think there should be some one that acts as a go between the senior and junior sections instead of us and them its not only guiseley but this level in general

jepson, mate, don't mess with ressec - on your own head be it! She is a force to be reckoned with. If you think I picked you up on the standard of your English & grammer then you ain't seen nothin', ressec is a professional!
Perhaps her username might give you a clue as to the position she holds within the Guiseley FC structure - she isn't just a casual observer (like you and me) by any means!

Ressec , am sure the senio club would be interested if they happened to sell a player that had come through the youth ranks ! . Would the juniors get the fee involved , for having a major say in his development , i think not .

Sorry guys, I really didn't mean to cause a full scale rumble. It's just that I believe the Directors and Committee members should be on a rota to attend the second team's home games and help out rather than them all jumping on the team bus for a saturday day trip to some ground across the penines or wherever. Actually, the second team do play much better football!
