My heart won't be able to stand much more days like this match:
2-0 up in first ten minutes 2-3 down at half-time 4-3 winners
I will let Rachel compile the report as I'm heading down to the memorial service of Phil Ledger the Woking FC Vice President - a good friend and a great man who recently passed away.
Regards
Mick Couzens Reserve Manager

Seeing 'RESULT: SILSDEN RES 3-' on the front page was a bit of a shock, but I shouldn't have worried. Well done, lads.

Ossett Albion went to the top of the Lancashire League East Division but when they drew on Saturday against Pontefract Collieries Guiseley went back in front again with a hard-fought 4-3 win at Silsden. Silsden were a much improved side from that we thrashed 8-1 earlier in the season. We suggested to Silsden that the game be played back at their Keighley Road ground when Cougar Park was declared doubtful and what a superb venue it will be when they get floodlights etc. Their new clubhouse and changing rooms are magnificent. Guiseley took the lead when a great passing move involving Callum White and Chris Davey ended with Danny Berry drilling home on five minutes. Guiseley went 2-0 up on nine minutes when Adam Edwards slid the ball home. This seemed to be their undoing, were they complacent after their earlier thrashing of this side? Some poor defending saw Silsden pull back to 2-2. Alex Woodcock was out of position as the ball was slid home via a post and then the ball was drilled in through a crowd of players at the near post. A good shot by Sam Robinson was parried for a cormer and then Silsden fired over and warning shots across the bows should have alerted Guiseley to what was to come. White headed back to Woodcock but he did not come for it and the ball as if in slow motion trickled towards the goal and was put in for 3-2. Silsden were posing problems but skipper Davey led by example with a terrific display. Just after the break Berry levelled at 3-3. Guiseley then lost Danny Todd with a shoulder injury, Will Boye substituting. To give fresh legs up front manager Mick Couzens threw on Duncan Beckwith for Wills. Edwards got clear and lobbed the ball over the ‘keeper for the winner. He then had an effort tipped over before being replaced by Graham Shaw. Sam Whittaker went close in the dying minutes. All in all a game in which Guiseley had to work really hard for the points.
GUISELEY RES: Alex Woodcock gk, Callum White, Danny Todd (Will Boye 55), Jamie Cairns, Calum Strodder, Sam Whittaker, Sam Robinson, Chris Davey, Danny Todd; Adam Edwards (Graham Shaw 80), Paul Wills (Duncan Beckwith 65). Subs not used: Dan Husband, Clark Lydon.
The Reserves are at Otley Town on Saturday in the Wharfedale FA Challenge Cup semi-final with a 1.30pm kick-off.

Well done on the win at Silsden, Guiseley! I saw the 8-0 win against Silsden at home earlier in the season, and they really must have improved a lot to have got close to us in this. Three or four of us are hoping to go down to the Semi at Otley on Saturday. Dinner at Dunnies down by the river: Huge, huge plate of home made steak pie, chips and and beans plus a really nice big cuppa for £2.70!...Possibly eating at one of the best cafes in Britain, and then a quick trek down the road to the Wharfedale Semi...Marvellous!...

I've been to the Rumblin' Tum, and to Chippindales, but still prefer Dunnies to just about anywhere I know...Incidentally, we're prone to a fair bit of bleating about the Pukka Pie Hut not being open, but it was open on Saturday, and no-one mentioned it on here. Did you get your chips on Saturday, Adam?...
