Farsley Celtic came to Nethermoor and showed much more desire and passion than the Guiseley Res players and thoroughly deserved their victory – to say we were poor is an understatement.
We started the game really well and took the lead when Dan Husbands long through ball was converted by Will Boye. Instead of pushing on and taking the game to Farsley we sat back and allowed our opponents take over. The visitors scored an equaliser before the break when we all went to sleep from OUR goal kick
HT
At the break we asked the players to be more committed and to match Farsleys passion and desire – it didn’t happen. We conceded a penalty and a breakaway goal.
Our goalkeeper had more shots to save than theirs which basically summed up our performance.
GUISELEY: Clark Lydon gk, Duncan Beckwith, Calum White, Dan Husband, Jamie Cairns, Craig Bentham, Lee Askham, Chris Davey, Will Hutton, Will Boye, Patrick Lauber.

TEAM MANAGERS THOUGHTS........................
I told the players six weeks ago that if they won their remaining 5 games, they would be crowned League Champions and they needed to prepare themselves for ‘five Cup Finals’ – they haven’t listened to me as they showed no passion to go out and win the match v Farsley. So sad. I could make some excuses but I won’t as the book stops at me – I’m the Manager – I pick the team – I set out the tactics – so I’m suffering the consequences of the lack of passion within the players.
It was good to renew the friendly rivalry between Glenn Walton and Harvey Dean the Farsley management and myself. It was also good to see Colin Whittaker the very good referee and his Assistant Paul Evans who I also get on very well with.
Thanks to Rachel O’Connor and her daughter Kate for all the work they do for the Reserves and to my Assistant Stuart Gray – Stu and myself spent 15 minutes in the changing rooms after the match both scratching our heads analysing the problems we are en-counting.........
