Hello and welcome to the latest edition of my weekly blog.
This week I am looking at our next three opponents as the league reaches its climax.
Up first is Gainsborough tomorrow. Trinity are on a fine run of form having won their last three games against Corby, Nuneaton and Hyde.
Earlier in the season we won a cracking game at the good old fashioned Northolme 3-1 with goals from Peyton knocking in two and Needham getting the other.
This was a great team performance from a side recovering from a 2-1 reverse to Nuneaton the previous week. In my opinion it was one of the best team performances of the season.
We face a tricky task of beating Brian Little’s 18th placed side tomorrow with their confidence boosted following their three consecutive victories.
Following Trinity we face a trip to Blyth but I’m not eggs-actly sure where it is lol.
Blyth sit in eighth but having been mathematically denied a play-off place and having a top scorer in their ranks they will be looking to upset Guiseley.
Paul Brayson will certainly be a threat up front as he has scored just as many goals as our very own James Walshaw.
We contested a 0-0 draw with Spartans at Nethermoor but a win here is vital with Solihull snapping at our heels.
Our last game of over first season in the Blue Square North is against play off banned Eastwood Town.
The Derbyshire side must be gutted having this week been told their appeal has been rejected after they failed to comply with league rules prior to the play-offs.
This will not be a direct contest between the two for a play-off place but we will still need to be at the top of our game as anything could have happened by this point.
Football’s a funny old game.
I hope you all have an egg-stra special time and don’t put all your eggs in one basket this Easter weekend, unless you’re cycling or purchasing goodies from Morrisons. Of course if you’re Volvoman you’ll have hidden the eggs in your jacket and sped off in your Fiat
Next week I will look at both the best and worst games of this season.
