Hello and welcome to the latest edition of my weekly blog.
This week I’m going to be previewing tomorrow’s match against Hyde.
We must be at our best to beat this team who are undefeated in the league after 12 games.
But we may be playing the first placed outfit at just the right time as they have drawn their last two league games.
They have also been knocked out of both the FA Cup and Cheshire Senior Cup.
Our old rivals B (PA) put them out of the FA Cup thanks to a last minute strike from ex Guiseley man Tom Greaves.
This came on the same day as we were unceremoniously dumped out of the FA Cup by the same score line at Ashington.
Graham was reported to be on suicide watch following that match while Volvoman held on for dear life to his raffle winnings at a nearby picnic table.
Tuesday night saw the league leaders thumped 4-1 by Manchester rivals Droylsden to end their brief stay in the Cheshire Senior Cup.
With Hyde having the second top scorer in their ranks, we must be on guard at the back and not allow any breakthrough.
It could well be a high scoring encounter with both teams having notched 58 league goals between them.
Equally so we could be in for a scoreless game as just 22 goals have been conceded in 24 league outings between the two.
It’s unpredictable but a win here could both boost our confidence tenfold and see us keep up the pressure on the top two.
A win or draw could also change the all too familiar picture at the top if Stalybridge get a result.
Celtic will also need a recovery following a loss to a certain Yorkshire side in the FA Cup!
A further loss to Colwyn Bay in the league means this is Stalybridge’s second chance to take top spot.
That’s it for this week folks.
Before you all go make a brew here’s a quick note to say the Supporters Club are holding a Halloween themed night next Friday night from 7pm.
It’s just £1 for Supporters Club members and £2 for non-members.
The price includes supper and a DJ.
Fancy dress is optional but if you want to be spooked you only need meet Otleybard
Next week I will look at how the Premier League’s going.
